I’ve picked up on this Love Thursday thing that goes around every week, and I know that usually people write about a family member, like a child or their husband. But I’d like to do something a little different, in response to a challenge from Mrs. Chicky. She is feeling the weight of the sadness that is going around the blogosphere these days, and would like us to write about a blogger we love.
I love Jennster. I really, honestly do. I don’t even remember when I started reading her blog, it was a few months before Blogher last year, I know that. What keeps me reading is her unbridled enthusiasm, her love for life itself. Even when she is having a problem or isn’t feeling well, she can find something to be unabashedly enthusiastic about. You may have noticed her love of the exclamation point-well that, and her love of the word “whore”. But she means it in a loving way! Being called a whore by Jennster is like the ultimate compliment. She has to really like someone to call them a whore.
Other things Jennster loves include her son Blake and her boyfriend “boyfriend” aka Point (I won’t say his real name because she never uses it either). She’s been posting their engagement photos, and you can see the love they have for each other in every one. You can also see how beautiful Jennster is, the California girl with the long blonde hair and the big smile, and yet she is as down-to-earth as they come. She works hard, for a demanding big-boss-man, takes care of her family and yet finds time to write two blogs and run a message board, all with her signature enthusiasm.
Reading Jennster’s blog just makes me feel good. Having met her in person made me feel even better. And then today she wrote a post about how much she loves Christmas, and dude, I love Christmas too, so that is just another reason to love her. Go, read Jennster’s blog. You will be so glad you did.

elizabeth!!!!!!! this was so freaking sweet! thank you SO much for all of this kindness. i really appreciate it and well, i’m blushing. *so seriously blushing*.. you KNOW i’m not good with compliments! lol
it was a pleasure to meet you at blogher- i love how friendly you were, and how you went about meeting and spending time with everyone you wanted to meet. i think you took full advantage of all blogher had to offer, and you did it in the best possible way- by being friendly, taking pics, etc. you are a wonderful person and i’m glad to call you a friend!
I have to totally agree. I have commented a few times at Jennster’s blog but I’m more of a lurker, but her enthusiasm just seeps off of the page and into the laps of whoever is reading her blog.
Love her too.
Yes, not to embarrass Jennster, but that is what I love about her, too. I have to admit, the first couple times I read her blog, I was like “This woman is way too happy,” and in my black and cynical heart that seemed like a negative. Then somehow my shell cracked a little and I was like “This woman is way too happy,” and it seemed like a positive.
Meeting her was a fabulous treat, too. And being called a…well, you know.
Ah yes, to be called a whore by Jennster is truly the best compliment a person can receive. I love her too, and it’s not because of her rockin’ bod. Okay, it’s not just because of her rockin’ bod.
Good choice.
Oops I forgot to add… Thanks for spreading the love!
I love jennster and Christmas too!
such a nice tribute to a friend.
I heart Jennster, too. Although now I’m a little concerned because she has never called me a whore and now I’m feeling unloved.
Hey, Jennster - over here! Can’t you recognize a whore when you see one?
My love for Jennster is well-documented. She’s one of my very favorite whores, hands down
And I think this is a great idea. I’d been wondering of a way to shine a light on some blogs I love but I never want to make anyone feel left out. maybe if I do it every week or something.
I love Jennster. She is exactly who she seems to be, which is about the highest compliment I can pay someone.
And Elizabeth, I love you too.
