Taking it One Day at a Time since 1996
19 Nov
In case you missed yesterday’s post, I was reminded by Mocha that I should warn you, it may cause running mascara or a lumpy throat. It’s a photo tribute to Kaitlyn, who turned one yesterday. She went from this:
To this:

Sam’s Club did their usual beautiful job on her cake:
Which she loved squishing between her fingers but ate very little of:
Her gifts were a Push & Ride Racer from us, a Groovy Girl doll from her brothers, a Barbie Phone and Answering Machine from my Dad and Jean, a Babies R Us gift certificate from our friends Stacy and Ross, and set of Roll Arounds from Chris’ Grandparents.
I’m now focusing my energies on getting the house ready for Thanksgiving. I realize that other people might not care how organized everything is, but I do. I will enjoy the day a whole lot more if I’m not pushing aside piles of papers and toys to find a place to set down the food. I’ve been getting a lot of hits from people searching for tips on how to host Thanksgiving for a large naumber of people, so that will be tomorrow’s post. Only 11 more days of NaBloPoMo to go!

That’s funny. My nephew did exactly the same thing with his cake when he was one - and two!!!
My mother (his grandmother) freaked out, but everyone else thought it was hilarious.
So beautiful, so wonderful! Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!
