I can’t stop cleaning my house.

I can’t stop cleaning my house. I’ve taken the silverware out of the organizer, washed out the organizer and wiped off each piece of silverware before replacing it in the drawer. I’ve taken everything off the kitchen counters and table, sprayed them with Clorox Disinfecting spray and wiped and dried them.

I’ve vacuumed the family room, our bedroom, the boys’ room and the family room. I’ve sorted mail and started a load of laundry. I’ve swept the kitchen floor.

I can’t stop cleaning my house because if I do, I am going to have to think about the fact that the Hospital called this morning to say there was something “abnormal” about the mammogram of my right breast. “Maybe a cyst”, the nurse said, “we just want to make sure”.

I have to go back to cleaning my house now. I need to pack up Kaitlyn’s too-small size 12 month clothes and get out fresh 18-24 month ones from the hand me down boxes. There is more laundry to fold and more dusting to do. I don’t want to stop because I don’t want to think.

I had a similar scare several years ago. Fortunately, it was just a cyst. I’m hoping the same for you. In the meantime, watch funny movies and TV shows and think as positively as you can.

Not something any woman wants to hear, but if all this positive energy from your wonderful friends has anything to do with it – and I know it DOES – you’re going to do fine. Believe that!

    Deep, cleansing breaths.

Mammos are so good these days that they find all kinds of things.

Remember when your buddy Suebob went through the 8 weeks of horror before they could finally schedule a follow-up mammo and cyst removal two years ago? Or last year, with the mammo, the follow-up tests, and the double breast biopsy? THAT ALL TURNED OUT TO BE NOTHING, just normally aging cysty breasts??

(The cynical side of me even says they are doing this to pad their profits. They wouldn’t do that, would they? Hmmmmm).

I am wishing all the best for you. Hugs.

  22. RWA says:

I can relate to that. I had some tests done a little while back, and I probably worked harder and stayed busier in the day and a half I waited for that phone call than I ever have.

Funny, though. It didn’t really take my mind of the situation.

  23. Lisa says:

Oh Elizabeth!! I am just crying for you right now. Please try not to worry (so easy to say, but not so easy to do).

    ((((hugs))))

  24. Elizabeth, my friend, I’m so sorry to hear that. Please keep us in touch with any developments. I’m thinking of you.

Elizabeth, I just did the same thing last month… chances are it is something benign… it was for me… Plus, house cleaning when there is ANYTHING else to do is just wrong.

  27. Me and my prayer is with you.I hope everything will be alright soon take care of your self..

  28. How are you now? I hope you’ll okay and it was just a benign cyst. I think you were stress during those time and you end up cleaning your house thoroughly which is also a good way to relieve all your worries. :-)
