I had a lymph swell under my collarbone when i was in college and the enthusiastic young doctor suggested that they'd probably have to cut it out. What?? Then she asked me if I've heard of cat scratch fever. i walked out and got a second opinion: turn out i had mono. such is the mystery of lymph! such good news! I really am releived. Those damn lymph nodes! They tricked my doctors during my thyroid cancer too. Apparently it is amazing how suspicious they can look on ultrasound sometimes.
