I snapped this photo of Nathan reading “Green Eggs and Ham” to Kaitlyn the other day. They are sitting in front of our picture window with the curtains open, which is why the top of the photo is so blown out. Still, Kaitlyn is looking so intently at the pages as Nathan reads, even though she only sat still for a few pages before toddling off to do something else. The two of them are usually in constant motion, so the fact that they sat still together even for a moment is worth noting.
Love between siblings is a precious thing. I never had that myself, my sister and brother and I barely tolerated each other. Neither of them ever picked me up when I fell down, or rocked me to sleep, or even read me a story. So it is even more amazing to me to see how the boys treat their sister, how careful they are with her, and how willing they are to include her in their lives. I love this photo because it shows me siblings that love each other.

That is so cute!
I feel the same way about Lou and Parker.
Tover and I were like Jekyll and Hyde friends - one day we’d be happily playing together and the next he’d beat the crap out of me and I’d have to kick him in the man parts and run away before he recovered enough to REALLY beat the crap out of me lol.
Now though I wouldn’t trade him for the world
So Sweet… I was not too cool to my brother when we were kids, but now I think he’s the mostest, bestest, coolest DY-NO-MITEist guy on earth.. haha
Too cute!!
My brother and I didn’t get along well at all when we were growing up, but as we’ve gotten older, we would do anything to help the other one out now.
It is great to hear that your kids all look after each other - even at such young ages.
That’s darling (and I actually like the sunlight at the top).
*happy sigh*
You should frame that.
That is precious!
Aww. They look so much alike (I used to HATE it, though, when people said that about me and my brother.) I agree with mayberry; the lighting may have been an accident but it looks really good.
That’s a first-rate picture, and tells so much!
Beautiful photo and the more important thing the “sibling moment”. Priceless.
Being 32 weeks pregnant, that picture made me teary! So beautiful.
I hope my son will read stories to his sister!
What a beautiful photo.
These kinds of pictures make me so happy!
I LOVE that picture. It’s awesome.
That is so sweet…it makes me want to have a second.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and having a laugh. I love your tag line “taking it one day at a time since 1996″
Awww. I know exactly what you mean. My sister and I were never close as kids and while our relationship is better now, it could be better. I love watching my two kids play together and want to be together. It’s so cool, isn’t it?!
I love it! beautiful.
and yes - I didn’t have a lot of that sibling love, so it is wonderful when I see it in my girls!
On occassion my kids are nice to each other, too. I have pictures I’ve snapped at those times, just for proof that they really did play nicely!
This picture is a keeper!!!
Awwww, how sweet! Doncha love capturing some of those moments with the camera?
That’s exactly what I needed to see. No better argument for having two - that picture says so much more than words.
What a beautiful photo. Helps me to see that siblings CAN love one another too (though I am lucky to at least have two sisters that we all do adore and cherish each other)
