Whether you work in an office or at home, there are a lot of good reasons to get your own business cards. I am forever meeting other mothers at playgrounds and wishing we could get together again, only how do we get a hold of each other? Why not have a professionally designed business card with your name, phone numbers and email addresses on it? You could even include your blog URL and then HAND THEM OUT AT BLOGHER! Because you are going to BlogHer, right? I am, and you know you want to meet me!
I made my own BlogHer business cards last year, by purchasing Avery business card stock, and using the template on their website to upload an image and arrange the text. Then I had to print out the sheets eight cards at a time, and tear them apart by hand, leaving many of the cards with jagged and decidedly unprofessional looking edges. 123print has 1000s of designs to choose from and they say their prices start at $3.95, which I think is for 100 cards. That is an EXTREMELY GOOD DEAL!!!
I definitely recommend bringing some kind of card to BlogHer. People who didn’t were scrambling to write their URLs on anything they could find, including one creative blogger who used squares of toilet paper! As for how many you will need, that’s really up to you. I took 150 and probably only handed out half that many. I would say bring 100, you can always use sticky notes (or toilet paper!) if you run out.
helpful information: Over the years the growing use of debit and credit cards and e-checks through the internet bank has caused a decline in use of bank checks. Although it has added a new option in bank loan currently being provided, with credit debt to cover up the credit card balance. Leading american bank that has also been responsible for such trend is independent bank introducing the current trend of payment through cards in the market.
You’re absolutely correct, cards are a HUGE deal at BlogHer. Everyone collects them and then shows off their collection to jealous onlookers, who then scramble to get even more cool cards. You can also try VistaPrint if you need to go low-cost, and their cards look great.
I am going with MOO mini cards (www.moo.com). Now I just have to find the perfect photos.
Business cards are a really great idea. There are so many creative ones out there.
Hearkens back to the days of ‘calling cards’ (Sorry, I can’t get enough of The Great Gatsby) — of course, usually the minimum is 500, which, after handing them out to all my friends and loyal readers, leaves me pondering what to do with 493 cards.
Business cards? Really? This Blogher thing is getting complicated. I’m so glad you brought this up. Wouldn’t want to be the woman at Blogher with no cards.
I started making Moo cards for something else, maybe I’ll do those for Blogher this year.
I used gotprint.com for my business cards. Don’t remember what the price was, but I’m pretty cheap, so they must’ve been, too! I was very pleased with their service and quailty.
i think i’m the only one who didn’t have a card, didn’t want to have a card, and could care less about having a card?!??!
i’m not going this year, but if i was… i still wouldn’t have cards.
but that’s just me. ![]()
Though I didn’t make it to BlogHer, last year, I also created business cards using Avery and these are great for handing out friends, associates and family…um…of course, if you want them to know where you are and how to reach you ;o) Good suggestions!
My hubby got me some of the moo mini cards for christmas and i nearly died at the cuteness! he went through my flickr account and picked out a bunch of the photos of the girls, and put my blog address and phone number on the front! i hand them out to moms i meet in the park, and also potential clients…so cute and so cheap!!
[...] at Table For Five has recommended business cards to hand out at the BlogHer Conference this July. Since I’ve been geared up, [...]
I was wondering about this. High school is a lot easier with a cool upper classman like you to teach us the ropes!!
Yes, cards are VERY useful at BlogHer! I remember handing out so many last year, and coming home with even more stuffed in pockets, bags and my bra.
I’ve even thought of getting more creative this year and looking for some other object to hand out (pens? buttons? stickers?) with my URL on it, too.
Hello! Good Site! Thanks you! mofvaipqnfvgx
