Weekend Cleaning Update Day Two

Good morning, readers! It is 10:54 a.m. on Sunday, and my friend Karen and her kids arrive in three hours. Which means I am in full-on panic mode at the moment. This house will NEVER be presentable in time. This morning I started by tackling my boys’ room. I think kids should learn to clean their own rooms, absolutely, but unfortunately my piling habit seems to have passed down to them, and the only way to get it really clean is to take every single thing out and start over. Here’s some photos of the BEFORE:

This is the view from the hallway. It’s a pretty small room for two boys and all of their crap.

Here’s the view standing next to the bunk beds looking towards the closet. And yes, that very well might be a pair of underpants hanging from the closet door knob. Because we are classy like that.

Standing in front of the closet looking towards Nathan’s dresser and Ryan’s bookshelf. So, so messy.

I’ll be back with an update as soon as it has been de-crappified. Wish me luck!

It’s so reassuring to know that I’m not the only one who goes into panic mode and cleans house like a madwoman in the 3 hours before a guest is arriving.

Sometimes i think that’s the only way my house will ever get cleaned.

    Motivation is a funny thing.

    Thanks for sharing the photos!

Great job “decrapifying” the room! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! And yes, I pretty much only clean like this when someone is coming over. I joke to my husband that we should invite people over EVERY weekend! LOL

  5. Oh man, what a project.

  6. You have got to get it clean by your kids only by making them understand. It will grow a maturity in them by this way and understanding of neat and cleanliness
