Morning, readers! It’s 11:38 a.m., and as I look around the room, my desk and sideboard still look clean and organized, the kids’ room and playroom are still reasonably presentable, and the sun is SHINING. It’s a pretty damn good Monday all the way around.

You know what makes today an even better day? Tonight is a new episode of “Heroes”!!!! My husband and I love that show so much it is crazy. And I love that we sit on the couch and watch it together, and talk about it during the commercials.

As you might remember, one of the reason for my weekend de-crappification was because I was hosting my friend Karen and her kids for a playdate. We had such a good time! We walked down to our neighborhood elementary school so the kids could play on the playground. I took the camera, but I had taken the memory card out to download some photos, and forgot to put it back in! I wish you could have seen teeny little Kaitlyn perched on the edge of a tire swing, little hands wrapped around the chains, with such a serious look on her face as I carefully pushed her back and forth. We did manage to get one photo together before she left, but I look HORRIBLE. Really, really horrible, but I’m going to show it to you anyway.

HI! I have gigantic boobs! And Karen and I look like we’re on a date, don’t we?? LOL We are not all that different, Karen and I, even though she is very religious and I am, well, not. One thing I noticed right away is that like my husband and I, Karen treats her children like they are people. Do you know what I mean? When they ask her a question, she answers it. She doesn’t talk down to them or dismiss them. Chris and I are the same way with our kids (and other people’s too for that matter). I am so grateful to Al Gore for inventing the Internet so Karen and I could meet!
