Morning, readers! It’s 11:38 a.m., and as I look around the room, my desk and sideboard still look clean and organized, the kids’ room and playroom are still reasonably presentable, and the sun is SHINING. It’s a pretty damn good Monday all the way around.
You know what makes today an even better day? Tonight is a new episode of “Heroes”!!!! My husband and I love that show so much it is crazy. And I love that we sit on the couch and watch it together, and talk about it during the commercials.
As you might remember, one of the reason for my weekend de-crappification was because I was hosting my friend Karen and her kids for a playdate. We had such a good time! We walked down to our neighborhood elementary school so the kids could play on the playground. I took the camera, but I had taken the memory card out to download some photos, and forgot to put it back in! I wish you could have seen teeny little Kaitlyn perched on the edge of a tire swing, little hands wrapped around the chains, with such a serious look on her face as I carefully pushed her back and forth. We did manage to get one photo together before she left, but I look HORRIBLE. Really, really horrible, but I’m going to show it to you anyway.
HI! I have gigantic boobs! And Karen and I look like we’re on a date, don’t we?? LOL We are not all that different, Karen and I, even though she is very religious and I am, well, not. One thing I noticed right away is that like my husband and I, Karen treats her children like they are people. Do you know what I mean? When they ask her a question, she answers it. She doesn’t talk down to them or dismiss them. Chris and I are the same way with our kids (and other people’s too for that matter). I am so grateful to Al Gore for inventing the Internet so Karen and I could meet!

No, you don’t look horrible! Neither does Karen, but you do look like you are on a date! LOL!
I am so with you on the treating your kids like people! We do that too. Afterall, they are people… just adults in training, right?
Glad you had fun!
*snort* That last line about did me in…
Big boobs aren’t neccesarily bad, and you guys look cute. Sounds like you had a great time, and that’s all that matter.
I would feel so satisfied as well if I could pull of quite a magic feat as you did this past weekend.
I haven’t gotten into heroes because for the first 8 episodes I felt like nothing happened. I’m going to wait until the season and ends and then go through it.
Happy Monday! You have a new assignment!

I’m glad you gals had a great date! It was nice of Al to invent the internet!
Very nice picture!
Ooo and I’m excited about Heroes too, I love that show!
I think you both look quite lovely.
It’s a good pic. But it does look like a date. Like a first date. hehe.
Oh I love meeting internet friends. Its sounds like you had a great time, gigantic boobed momma
I feel sad I’m so far away from everyone on the Blogosphere. It seems you had a wonderful time.
[...] Elizabeth just finished a cleaning frenzy. You’ve gotta read all about her whirlwind tidying. I think I’d be exhausted for days after that! [...]
You look like your usual cute self.
Today after our company workshop, the trainer wanted to give me a bunch of stuff - a little card in a plastic case, a printed poker chip!, and a desk plaque to remind me about the valuable concepts I had learned in the workshop.
Before thinking, (as usual) I said “Oh, no thanks, I am trying to de-crappify my life.” Thus implying that what he was offering was crap (which it was) but still, I shoulda been a little nicer.
I especially loved the part about you and your husband watching TV together. My husband and I enjoy doing that, too.
