Weekend Extravaganza Post #1-Baby pictures!

Thank you to Her Bad Mother for the first request for a post topic-she asked to see photos from my youth. Well, here you go!

This is me right after my parents adopted me. I am 18 months old:

I wish I could get Kaitlyn to sit that still and smile like that! This next one is me in Kindergarten. My Mother made all of my clothes, and I LOVE the rickrack on the sleeves of this top.

And then there’s this one from first grade. I’m surprised that I don’t have bangs in this one, my Mom must not have had time to trim them before picture day. This is the only photo I have where my hair is clipped to the side like that.

So, what do you think? Not too totally dorky? I’m embarassed to admit that I STILL haven’t taken Kaitlyn to have her portrait taken, mostly because I have to assume that, as with any photo I attempt to take of her, she will get all serious and evasive and refuse to not only smile but to even look at the camera at all. Of course, I’ll never know unless I try.

In my email inbox today came a job from PayU2blog for SEVEN posts! Sixty words each, for $5.00 each. Which puts my Get-My-Butt-to-BlogHer total to this so far:

That baby picture is positively angelic!

Post ideas…hmm. Have you ever written about having a girl after two boys? Were you excited/scared/shocked?

Aww, thanks Lanna! Don’t forget, that baby picture would have been taken sometime in 1968, the Kindergarten one in 1972 and the 1st grade one in 1973!

Brian-let’s see your baby photos then, please! And I think the only people using film are professsional photographers these days, I might be wrong, but I don’t know anyone personally who uses a film camera. I agree though, there is a quality that you lose when you print out a digital photo.

Awww, thanks Mimi! I was kind of hoping someone would say that :) I bet you were a cutie pie as a toddler, too!

  13. Lovely pictures; you ought to have your daughter’s portrait taken. She would want you to in later life.

  14. Karly says:

Aw, what a cutie! Kaitlyn looks a lot like her mama! Isn’t it fun to have a little mini running around the house? My daughter looks just like me, too, and I love it!

I love these pictures. The style reminds me of my own childhood pictures. Classic! I think all 3 of your children look like you. I see the boys in you as well as Kaitlyn. :)
