It’s shaping up to be a pretty good day so far, which I say as I knock on wood, because that’s a sure-fire way to jinx it. But it’s 10:39 a.m., Kaitlyn went down for her nap, and so far, here’s what’s happened (read all the way through, please, there’s a surprise at the end!):
- I got a $69.00 check in the mail, and I’m spending it to treat my husband and our boys to tickets to see “Spiderman 3″ at the IMAX theater. Chris turns 30-something on May 13 (which is also Mother’s Day this year, as it was the day he was born!), and he deserves a nice gift for all he’s put up with from me over the last few months!
- I’m the number two blog at Blogsire, and I’ve moved up to Large Mammal on the Truth Laid Bear Ecosystem! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out either site! I’ve been shooting up the ranks at TTLB big time since I started networking my blog. It’s fun!
- After that “not so amazing after all” post, I got an email from a friend offering to take Kaitlyn to the park and then back to her house today so I can get some work done! Woo hoo! Sarah and I met when we were in the same Mothers of Preschoolers group about six years ago, and we didn’t see each other again until she happened to sit down on the exercise bike next to mine at the Y last month. And yet, here she is offering to watch my daughter for me, which is very generous and kind of her. Thanks, Sarah!
- I’ve been getting some incredibly nice comments on my blogs over at BlogCatalog. I have lots of friends in my neighborhood there, and at MyBlogLog, and lots of friends at Maya’s Mom, too. I wish I had more time to just slowly go through each blog at all of those sites and add people! If you are looking for a great way to meet new bloggers, or connect with ones you already read, I recommend joining any or all of these sites.
- I found a great theme for my NEW COOKING BLOG, called MomCooks. Or maybe Mom Cooks, or maybe Mom Cooks! Which one do you like the best? Anyway, I couldn’t get the theme installed correctly, so I asked for help on the Wordpress support forum. They have a service called intall4free, where people volunteer to help newbies get Wordpress installed. I’m not a newbie, but I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. I got help, and now it looks great! Thanks, Michael!
- I got a MAJOR AWARD! Well, major to me, at least. You’ll have to wait for the next post to read about it though, because I have to do some thinking (ahem) before I write the whole post. It’s exciting, though!
Coming up this weekend on Table for Five: More answers to last weekend’s questions, such as the time I went on a road trip and ended up with glass in my underwear, and LOTS of photos. I’ve got about a hundred photos that need editing and uploading to Flickr, I am SO behind on that. I hope you’ll stop by!

MSM-I was pretty excited about the dollar amount, but sad because it was my last check from BlogHer ads. I had to stop running their ads when I started writing for PayPerPost, because the two company’s Terms of Service contradict each other. And I make a LOT more than that writing for PPP!
