Why is my daughter so happy?

happygirl2.JPG

Because it rained early this morning, filling up the bare spot in our yard left by the previous owners’ above ground pool. And that little stinker has figured out how to slide open the screen door in the back room, lower herself down to the step and then down to the patio, and had gotten all the way out to that puddle before I even knew she was gone. I KNOW! She could have drowned, and I am a bad, neglectful mother!

But she sure did love that puddle. To see the rest of the photos I took, you can click my Flickr badge on the left sidebar.

Why else is she happy? Because her Mommy emailed a nice lady from a website called Give Simple and asked if she could promote the site on her blog, and the nice lady said that anyone who buys something from Give Simple before May 31st will get ten percent off their entire order just by filling in the promotional code TABLE4FIVE when they check out! Mommy has her eye on this:

Or maybe this:

And that is why Kaitlyn (and Mommy) are happy.

What an adorable picture! She’s got that look on her face like things can’t get any better. She’s got her milk, a snack, and a puddle to jump in. :) Too cute.

That bag is CUTE too!! And the necklace. I’m off to check out the site. Good pick!

Omg way too cute! That’s one of the biggest smiles I’ve ever seen Princess Muffinest have! How stinkin’ adorable. You can almost TOUCH the joy beaming from that face.

And btw you’re not a horrible, neglectful mother. At all. And you should pinch yourself for even saying so! You damned well know better! (and yes I do mean DAMNED Well ;) Seriously, how many children die each year from drowning in a mud puddle less than an inch deep? And don’t forget to mention before people have horrific visions of your baby angel toddling out to the middle of the road by herself that your back yard is completely fenced in :)

Give my nephews and my Princess Muffinest niece smoochies from me!

You need to read my blog today – you are NOT a bad, neglectful mother.

I refer to puddles as tractor beams around here. And dear LORD, there is such a different between a MUD puddle and a WATER puddle. Eek!

Thanks, Sissy! And yes, it’s a good thing that yard is fenced in. Plus, Elvis was laying right there in the grass watching her, what a good dog. Kaitlyn says, “I love you Aunt Leesy”!

  15. Very appropriate shirt for the occasion.

Very cute. More kids need to play in puddles, IMO.

So cool that you got a photo! That’s great! I don’t know what it is, but kids just have puddle radars. Usually I’m trying to keep the 3.5yo out of them because they’re in parking lots in stop number one of four stops in the string of errands and I don’t want a muddy car and fussy/wet kid…
But yesterday I had him help me wash the car, and he had such a good time he wants to wash it again today. ;) Didn’t hurt that we have weird concrete in our driveway that makes awesome puddles (that I told him to go to town on for a change!) and I let him be in charge of the sprayer…

  17. RWA says:

My nephew LOVES puddles. They’re not so bad.

Except when the kid trips and falls in the puddle, getting completely soaked. Or when they go out in a brand-new pair of shoes and get them dirty and soaked.

But, hey, that’s my brother and my sister-in-law’s problem – not mine!!!!

  18. Fraulein N says:

The fact that she’s wearing THAT shirt is priceless.
