I’m a Rockin’ Girl Blogger!

At least my wonderful friend Carmen thinks so, because she gave me this:

rockin

Isn’t that awesome? I’m supposed to award it to five people, so here they are:

rockingirl.jpg- My number one commenter and all-around awesome person Mimi from The Things We Do. We are getting together next Tuesday when she comes to Michigan to visit her parents, and I am so excited about it! Her love for and devotion to her family is evident in every post she writes. She rocks!

rockingirl.jpg- One of my roommates for BlogHer ’07 and very deserving friend Dana from The Dana Files, one of only two Republican bloggers that I am friends with :) She’s been feeling uncomfortable in the Blogosphere lately, and I want her to have this shiny badge so she knows that I think she rocks!

rockingirl.jpg- My long-time reader Lanna from A different kind of odd…, whom I greatly admire for being what she calls a “modern day hippie”. She uses cloth diapers, breastfeeds, plans to homeschool, grows an amazing amount of food in beautiful gardens, which she then cans and freezes (read her post about the strawberries!), and always leaves the kindest, most supportive comments. She definitely rocks!

rockingirl.jpg- My PayPerPost friend Kat from My Single Mom Life, who I tagged for the 8 things meme, and when I read her answers, discovered that we have more in common than I thought! She is the single Mom of two boys and has some serious health problems, yet she is almost always available to chat with or to answer a question. I can’t wait to be her roommate this November at PostieCon!

rockingirl.jpg- Another good Postie friend Cass from Midlife Musings, who has eight children between the ages of one and nineteen, homeschools, and has nine blogs. That’s right, I said NINE blogs. I linked to my favorite of the bunch, but as far as I’m concerned, she can grab the image and put it on all of them! In addition to rocking as a blogger, Cass rocks because she told me about Maybelline SuperStay Silky Foundation and Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear powder, and now my skin isn’t red and shiny any more! That definitely rocks!

Each of them should award it to five people, and so on and so on we go, spreading the love, recognition, and appreciation. Now we just need a Rockin’ GUY Blogger award, because I’ve got a few of those I’d like to give out! I’d make it myself, but I am hopeless with Photoshop. Anyone wanna give it a try? Just don’t make it pink…

Holy crap! Thank you!!!! I’m totally stoked and I don’t think Dana is one of 2 “Rebublicans” out there! Shame on me — I’m not a “republican” but tend to vote that way… usually… but that’s because I worked for Carl Levin and hated it and him as a result…..

    Thanks!!!!

Oh goodness, I have red and shiny skin too and I hate it! Do those two products really work?

Mimi- You’re welcome! So, besides Dana and Julie from Mothergoosemouse, you are also one of my Republican friends? Carl Levin, huh? Here’s a name you might remember from your Michigan days- my Dad was friends with Bob Carr, and I worked his campaign the summer after my Sophomore year of High School. I blew up balloons and passed out flyers at every county fair in Mid-Michigan!

Alison- Oh my god it is like MIRACLE MAKEUP. It’s expensive, here in Michigan at the giganto grocery superstore we have, the makeup was $10.00 and the powder was $9.00, which is double what I usually spend. The makeup has two chambers, one for the foundation and one for whatever the white stuff is that seals it in. I pumped it once onto my fingers and smoothed it all over my face, then used the brush that came with the powder to swipe it all over my face. That was at 2:00 in the afternoon. I forgot to wash my face that night before bed, and the next morning, that makeup was still on my face! And it didn’t look shiny at all! I bought some blotting papers just in case and didn’t even use them. You need to buy these two products NOW!

Kat- I still haven’t completely convinced my husband to “let” me go. The last time I mentioned it, he looked at me like I was crazy. I am going to have to make a LOT of money blogging in the next few months, because that will be the only way I will get the money for the plane ticket, hotel room, and spending money. But yes, we WILL have an awesome time!
