If you love to read paperback books or listen to CD or MP3 Audiobooks, you absolutely MUST check out Booksfree.com. It works like Netflix or Blockbuster Online- you create a membership, add books to your list, and then depending on which membership you choose, the books are shipped to you to read and send back. Browse the site, choose from a huge list of either books or audiobooks, and add them to your queue by clicking the “Rent” button. Keep the books as long as you like, and then return them in a prepaid mailer.
It took me less than a minute to create my account. I chose the 2-at-a-time plan, because I have a hard enough time keeping track of stuff in this house. I was thrilled to find exactly the books I have been looking for in the books to rent list. I am on a Laurell K. Hamilton kick these days, and she has written 14 books in this particular series I’m reading. The library only has some of them, and I’ve been reading them all out of order. Thanks to Booksfree.com, I was able to rent the books I haven’t read that the library doesn’t even have!
How much does it cost per month? Plans for Paperback books start at $9.99 a month for 2-at-a-time and go up to $37.99 for 12 books at a time. You can also rent CD or MP3 Audiobooks, which start at $22.49 a month for one at a time. Have you seen what it costs to BUY an audiobook these days? This is definitely a much better deal! And now I’ve got books coming in the mail in 3 to 10 business days that I cannot WAIT to read. Trust me, if you love to read, check out Booksfree.com, you’ll love it!

Wow! Sounds like a great site! I’ll definitely have to check it out!
Annie- It is! I’m going to email you my link for the Tell-A-Friend, so I can get credit for the referral!
I would be so bad about sending the books back. LOL. Especially if I really love them!
Lynda- Oh, I forgot to put that in the post-if you really love the book you get, you can keep it and pay for it!
What a great idea! Now, why didn’t I think of that?? Probably because my mother-in-law buys books like they’re going out of style and she passes them all on to me.
Seriously?! What a brilliant idea, wish I would have thought of it myself!
I’m definitely going to have to check this out. I love audiobooks when we go for long drives back home. Helps the time go by much faster.
Jennifer- I’ll email you and then I’ll get a commission for referring you!
Booksfree, I have to admit, is a pretty good service. They’ve been around for 7 years renting mass market paperbacks through the mail.
If you’re looking for more than just mass market paperbacks, try BookSwim — http://www.bookswim.com — a service that rents hardcover books and new releases in a very similar Netflix for books style.
I’d love to see you reading with us!
