I was supposed to have this posted before noon today, but I didn’t, so I probably won’t win, but I was trying to enter the Win an XShot from BenSpark contest that Drew is having. An XShot is an extender for your camera that lets you take a photo of yourself and other people or yourself and more of the background then you would get if you just held out your camera at arm’s length.
All I had to do to enter the contest is submit a photo of myself and four other people trying to take our own photo. Since we are a family of five, it was easy! Here’s our photo:
With an XShot, the camera would have been further away and you would have been able to see all of us plus a little of the background, which would be a much better photo.
Like I said, I think I missed the deadline, but I wanted to show the photo anyway, and help out Drew. This is a video he would like me to embed that explains more about the XShot:
I love this picture of your family. I think it’s cool the way the five of you just barely fit in there. I know the product you’re talking about is supposed to improve on that, but I like it the way it is. And, you look pretty in that color.

Thanks for the link and the post write up. I really wish I could include this in the contest. Out of fairness I cannot. But I really wish I could. That picture illustrates perfectly the need for an XShot. Great job on that. And I do appreciate you calling attention to the contest with your post. Thanks.

Drew- I know, I was kicking myself all night for missing the deadline. I like the photo so much that I’m now using it as my profile photo on a few sites! I’m thinking about buying a Nikon Coolpix to take to BlogHer because I want something light and portable-do you think the XShot would work with it?
