It’s big-time monetizing time again! I am way behind on posts for PayU2Blog, and we are going out of town on Friday afternoon to visit my SIL and her family in Toledo. I did a projected budget for how much it will cost to take all five of us to the Toledo Zoo, including admission, parking, stroller rental, snacks, drinks, souvenirs at the gift shop, meals, and more drinks. At LEAST $100.00 I’m thinking. Plus, dinner out on Friday night, breakfast Saturday morning, not to mention gas for the van…
Anyway, as we have already discussed ad nauseum, this is my blog, and sometimes I choose to use it for posting paid-for content for the purpose of putting money in my pocket. Unfortunately, PayU2Blog tends to give me keyword assignments that have absolutely nothing at all to do with parenting. But I’ll try my best!
Please feel free to browse my recent posts widget there on the left sidebar, or peruse my Flickr photos, the link is in the right sidebar. And if anyone knows of a decent hotel in the Toledo area where we won’t get treated like crap by the staff or get a room with broken air conditioning and a dirty bathroom, please let me know!

I know what you mean! From time to time I get behind on my payu2blog posts also and I have to do quite a few of them in one day.
Just wondering, but did you get in on any of their free review things? I got my shoes a few days back and already wrote the review. I didn’t think that I had gotten in on the blinds review, but to my surprise I got a package in the mail today with my free blinds.

Sounds like a fun and busy weekend! I know when we visit my husband’s family we always spend around $100 and they are just four hours away!

That’s why I don’t go too far in the last years. I intended to go to the zoo with the kids this year but we have to go to the Big City Lisbon and we will spend a lot of money in only one day.
We have several medical appointments to come and I have to blog for that now.
I always like your paid posts even with those weird keywords that don’t fit in the blog, for sure you’ll find a way to make great posts.
I don’t think there are anything wrong with paid posts… just don’t over-do it!
Good luck finding a hotel. I’ve scored a few times, and other times been sorely disappointed (a “double” bed room in Italy that was two twin beds and not a double, ugh). Dh and I have gotten to the point where we don’t want to go anywhere if budget-wise we’d have to stay at the scary Travelodge out by SeaTac airport.

Alan-I did get in on the free blinds, but I keep forgetting to have my husband measure the window! Thanks for that reminder

Raesmom- I expect the zoo to cost way more than we think it will, but be a TON of fun! I’m hoping for some really great photos, too.

Laura-It’s hard to make the money stretch to fit everything, sometimes, I know. Thanks for saying you like the paid posts, I appreciate it!

Lanna- I had to cancel the first reservation I made because when I told my brother in law what hotel it was, he sucked in his breath and said “oooh, you REALLY don’t want to stay there”. Fortunately, Travelocity lets you cancel your reservation and book a new one, and you pre-pay for the room so they just give you a credit towards the new reservation. Now we are staying at a Red Roof Inn which is hopefully decent.
I like the new look you have for your blog, Elizabeth.
Ya.. i usually go off of personal recommendations only. Even with the online hotel reservation services, you never really know what you’re going to end up with! But then again, sometimes that’s all you have to go off of!
Coming back after quite a while.. and well your blog sure is looking better..

We all do what we have to do and if people don’t like, well they can pay your bills
And tell them that (I do).
Love the new template.

Graham- Isn’t this theme cool? It’s called Tigopedia Reloaded, and the developer is a very sweet 18 year old who lives in Bangalore! We use gmail chat to go through the theme and work out little tweaks, so in a way, I have helped improve the theme. The blue/green color combo is very popular these days as well. I’m really happy with it!

Hello there Elizabeth! Yes, I should have listened to my brother in law in the first place. The first hotel I booked was a Day’s Inn, which was really cheap, but his parents told him it was in the scariest part of town. We ended up at a Red Roof Inn right in the middle of the shopping district, and it was clean and comfortable and still cheap, so score!

Lisa- I agree, and thank you! I still feel like I will never get caught up with PayU2blog though, but I’m trying!
Isn’t this new theme cool? I just happened to be blog-surfing, and I saw it on another site, and I fell in love with it!

Kiviniar-Thank you! The theme developer is a very nice young man (18) in Bangalore, he is going to University too. I love that blogging introduces people who would never have known each other otherwise. And thanks for stopping by!
