Opening my eyes, looking around
To say that the last few days have been hard for me would be a gross understatement. I have stretched my nerves to their absolute breaking point. Last night while the kids watched the Madagascar DVD, I sat on the couch reading “I Am Legend”, and the next thing I knew, Chris was pulling me up off the couch and walking me to bed because I had fallen asleep sitting up with the book in my lap and my chin on my chest. At 8:00 at night. He tucked me in, and except for getting up to pee at 5:30, I slept until 9:00.
I don’t want to feel like this. I want to have energy. I want to laugh and smile and enjoy my day. I want to be fun Mom, not too-busy Mom. I want my priorities to be focused in the proper directions.
If you ever are feeling doubts about yourself as a blogger, read the comments in the post before this one. It will restore your faith not only in yourself but in your fellow bloggers. It would be nice if I could say for sure that I am done with the “woe is me” posts. There is so much more I could be using this space for!
So with that in mind, here’s some good news- I have won THREE contests in the last month, the first of which was the Cool Mom Picks/BlogHer Photo Scavenger Hunt. We paired up with another blogger and had a list of photos we had to take. Like, a photo of a blogger with braids, or a photo of a blogger from Iowa. My partner was Dana from The Dana Files (she was also one of my roommates), and we won third prize! We had our choice of any Washi pendant from Blend Creations, which are made of brushed stainless steel and contain a real piece of Japanese silkscreened paper. Retail value is $79.00, plus we got a stainless steel choker to wear the pendant on! What a great prize! I tried to take a photo of it but I couldn’t get the lighting right, so here’s the pendant I chose, the image is called White Gold with Flowers:

I am sorry not to have called you back. I was at work when you called, and I’m going back out in about three minutes. My time is no longer my own - email is way better for me at this point, with four in soccer, one in cross country, two in scouts and then band and choir and my own work.
