So I’m surfing blogs one night last month, and I see a link about a prize being offered to come up with a caption for a cartoon. I look at the cartoon, I think of something clever, and I enter the contest. Forget all about it, until I get an email. Read what it says at the bottom of this:
The email came with a full name and phone number, so I called it. The person who answered was exactly who they said they were in the email, and their answer to my question “did I really win?” was YES. I really did win $200.00 for coming up with that caption, which they thought was the best of all the ones they received, apparently. Woo hoo!
What am I going to do with the money? I’m going to buy a round-trip plane ticket and next month, I’m going to visit Grace in California. I’m going to let her pamper and spoil me while we sit on her deck sipping cocktails and discussing everything from women’s rights to Lindsay Lohan. I won’t have anywhere to go, anything to do, I can just BE. I was going to go anyway, I just hadn’t figured out how to pay for it yet.
So, see that? Sometimes good things do happen.

That’s an appropriate caption, nice work. Always good hear ing a story of somebody entering and winning.
When we go through the airport security it always seems like we have to use a couple of those for laptops, carry-on bags, etc.
