Blogging the Walk-Saturday-The shirts are in!

Author: Elizabeth

I am SO, SO happy with the way the shirts turned out! The process is called “computer air-brush”, and it’s basically a printout onto heat-transfer paper, it gets laid on the shirt inside this press, then a plate comes down and heats it to 375 degrees. So it’s a clean transfer and it looks AMAZING:

See? How COOL IS THAT?? There’s even a tiny 2T shirt for Kaitlyn, although she made the wrong size for Chris, 2XL instead of XL, but that’s okay, I’ll just have him layer another shirt under it. It’s been really cold here anyway.

I only have one problem at this point- I have NO IDEA where on the M.S.U. campus to go tomorrow! Can you believe that? There is no place on the site that says WHERE on campus the walk starts, and M.S.U. is the largest single-area campus in the country! I tried calling the National Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, in Chicago, and the lady who answered the phone was very nice but had no information, I called the Lansing branch of the AA, left two messages on an answering machine and got no return call, and I called the M.S.U. Department of Public Safety, and there was no one there who knew either! Wouldn’t you think that the campus police would have some information about a large group of people who will be moving around their campus tomorrow?

So we will just drive to the campus tomorrow and hope we find the walk location! I can’t believe I don’t have the information, but I really have tried. Hopefully there will be signs or banners or something. We’ll put on our shirts, fill up some sport bottles with water, slather on the sunscreen, and do our best to get all five of us across the finish line!

But don’t forget, YOU can go to the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk website (click that link!), search for a walk in your area, and either join an existing group or sign up to be a Team Captain! The Alzheimer’s Association raises much-needed funds for research that helps develop new medications used to relieve and delay the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, for which there is currently no cure. It’s important to raise not just funds but also awareness of this important organization so that in the future, no one has to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease.

Hopefully everywhere will be well signposted. The shirts look great. Good luck to ‘Team Edwards’.

What is this cold of which you speak? I got so hot at Dodger stadium on Sat. that I had to hold my pants away from my legs because they were BURNING me.

Come visit me in Michigan, Sue! Overnight temps in the 40s, daytime highs in the high 50s! Fall has hit HARD here.
