I can finally tell you my good news!

Does anyone remember a few weeks ago when I very briefly posted some good news, but then had to delete the post entirely due to the news not being official? Well, it’s official…

I got a job!

In one of those fortuitous, circumstantial, coincidental type things, my son Nathan’s best friend’s Dad happens to work from his home in marketing for this online company. And they needed a new Live Chat representative, which is a job done from home as well. This Dad, whose name is John, mentioned to his son that he needed to hire someone, and his son said “You should call Nathan’s Mom”. So John called me, I talked to Chris, talked to the kids, and now, as of Monday, I am a Live Chat representative for…

BlogTalkRadio! I start training next week, and the week after that, I will be Live in the queue from 12:00 p.m. to well, whenever. I will work full-time for sure, and possibly more when they need me. It will be a big adjustment, not so much during the day when I’m online all day anyway, but in the evening. But I know it will all work out, and best of all, BlogTalkRadio sounds like a fantastic company to work for. All of the people I have spoken to so far are parents, and they’ve all been friendly and professional.

And BlogTalkRadio is HOT, if you didn’t already know. Check out the Show Lineup-there are thousands of shows on every topic you can think of. Political candidates, entertainers, business people, Moms, all creating “citizen radio” available to listen to any time. It’s a growing company and I feel lucky to be getting involved with them. So, YAY!

Oh, and if you’re wondering, I do still plan to continue blogging with Pay Per Post and PayU2Blog. And I definitely plan to continue doing product reviews. As long as I stay on top of everything, I’ll be fine. But I won’t have to worry about money coming in, as long as I do my job well, I’ll have two paychecks a month to count on, and that’s peace of mind that’s been a long time coming for me.

MammaLoves-I actually did create my own show, called “Blogging for Dollars”, all about the best ways I have found to make money blogging. I did my first show, posted about it here and a few other places, and NO ONE called me :( I spent 30 minutes talking to myself! But maybe I’ll try again, or maybe try picking a different topic, I don’t know. Anyway, thanks for the comment!

Mimi-Thanks! And I had my job title wrong in that post, my title is Host Liaison. That means that I answer help question live and in email, and eventually I’ll also call new show hosts and walk them through setting up their show and using the site. There’s always something to do!

Donna-I know! It really was just being in the right place at the right time. John knew I was a blogger, and I was familiar with BlogTalkRadio because my friend Jennster and I did a show last year, so it all just came together! I just hope I still have the time (and the energy) to keep up with all my blogs!
