Hot, Sick, and Grouchy-I’m a barrel of laughs

Author: Elizabeth

It is unseasonably HOT in Michigan today, and guess what? Our central air conditioning unit STOPPED WORKING! Woo hoo! I have no idea how much it costs to fix it, but it’s probably more than we have. So, what’s the current temperature in my living room? Why, that would be
84 degrees

.
And we all know just how much I love not being able to control the temperature. Hence, the grouchy.

I’m also sick. Sick as in, my right nostril (nostril is an icky word. almost as bad as moist. ewww.) is completely plugged up, I have a cough, a slight fever, and generally feel like crap. Boy, it sure is fun reading this blog post, isn’t it? I would probably be a lot less grouchy if I’d been able to actually take a nap this afternoon, but see, our bedroom is right next to the living room, and my husband and boys decided my nap time would be a great time to play Halo 3.

It is impossible for them to play Halo 3 quietly. They shout insults at each other and trash-talk each other at Maximum Volume. And then wonder why I come out of the bedroom shooting laser beams out of my eyeballs in their general direction.

I’ll have a DVD review for you later today, we got a DVD of the kids’ show “Wayside” to review. I also recommend clicking over to the Parent Bloggers Network blog for a list of posts on the topic, “How far would you go for your kids?” I meant to enter the Blast, but I was busy trying to blow my swollen nose and hacking up a lung. Sorry, Kristen and Julie, I promise I’ll play along next time :)

I’m so, so sorry you’re still not feeling well. To be sick and hot must be awful. At least fall temperatures are around the corner. Hope you feel better and cooler soon!

Boy and when my brother shouts China hears him. Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well and the boys in the house aren’t being very thoughtful. I don’t know what I would do without the AC. Today when it got to a mere 79 I demanded it be turned on. And don’t even get me started on not being able to breathe. I can have a migraine that makes me puke till my eyes bleed, or a stomach flu that makes me take up residence in the bathroom and I’m fine. Give me a sniffle and/or a catchy throat and you’d better have puffs plus and some homemade CNS just to say hello to me.

    *hug* hope you feel better.

Have you ever tried for an Portable Air Conditioning unit? Its cool and productive and its easy to move from one room to another.
