Halloween is just over two weeks away, have you bought your halloween costumes yet? I buy ours at Target every year, but I’m getting so tired of the same costumes over and over. Ryan always wants a black cape and some kind of scary mask, and Nathan goes back and forth between Power Ranger and a creepy skeleton thing. I wish they would try something more creative!
I’ve been looking for the perfect costume for Kaitlyn, and I was disappointed by the choices at Target. First of all, we live in Michigan, where the evening temperature on Halloween is usually in the 40s. And it almost always rains. So a sleeveless, gauzy “fairy princess” dress is just not practical. That doesn’t keep me from drooling over this adorable costume I found online at Halloween Express, though. Yes, it’s sleeveless, and no, it wouldn’t be very warm, but wouldn’t my Katiebug Ladybug look to die for adorable in this?

Yes, yes she would

If you lived down here in Texas Katie could TOTALLY wear that costume on Halloween. We count ourselves fortunate if it is 65-70 degrees because it’s been 85-90 before and that’s just no fun. Unless you’re counting on wearing a gauzy little lady bug dress.

Wordgirl-I would love to spend just one Halloween in Texas! I’d be happy to trade windy, cold, and rainy, for 85 degrees
It’s alot of fun to make your own costumes. You should try it.
that would just be the ultimate Katiebug cocktail of cuteness but alas – her Halloween costume has already been decided by fate. For she is, and there is only one, PRINCESS MUFFINEST!

That’s such a cute costume! It’s so hot here at Halloween it’s almost unnatural! I remember when I was growing up we’d have to wear heavy coats over our costumes….
Here, the kids strip them off because they’re too hot!
Hopefully, this year it won’t be so bad!
Yep I too am dreading the coldness of Halloween this year!! Its going to be a cold one!!
For my daughter when she wants to wear this light weight costumes i buy it in a much bigger size so I can dress her very warm under the costume and still be able to get the dress on her over the warm clothes! I have even been able to get a winter coat under it too!
I have not got the costumes yet…im in denial that October is almost gone.
Very Adorable Costume she would look so cute in it!!
The weather has been so whacky here lately, who knows if it will be 40 degrees or 80 degrees on Halloween!
That costume is adorable… I wish they had it in my size!
Jane, Pinks & Blues
I live in Southampton on the South Coast of the UK and it is absolutely freezing in October through to March, halloween is always a bit of a nightmare as you have to wrap up so much to go Trick & Treating, not much fun!!
Probably best to just stay at home and throw a party in the warm!!
have a great halloween!!
We’ll probably be sweating her in Alabama! I found two adorable costumes for the kids, but they are meant for cold weather. Luckily my 2 year old will lose interest by the 3rd house so we won’t be out trick or treating long!
I am going to be an angel, tinkerbell or a bumble bee. I can’t decide…
And yes, the ladybug is absolutely adorable. She will love it!
That is an adorable costume for any little girl.
That is adorable!
Elizabeth! You could totally make that costume work in Michigan. All you need is a black turtleneck and black tights underneath.

Sissy-I wish I was creative enough to come up with a “Princess Muffinest” costume
I found a really cute one at TJ Maxx though, I think she’ll look adorable in it AND stay warm.

Mimi-It must be so nice not to have to layer long underwear under the costumes and mittens and scarves on top

Michelle-I don’t know why, but for some reason I didn’t think of kids in the U.K. going trick or treating the way kids do here. That is interesting! Do people pass out candy bars and suckers like we do? I’d love to hear more about UK Halloween.

Jennifer-That’s funny that in Alabama, you get costumes meant for cold weather, and in Michigan, we get costumes meant for warm weather! The stores really need to get that straight, don’t they? LOL
Yeah we give out candy (sweets, its seems funny calling it candy we call them sweets over here), anyway – Not a lot of people participate in Halloween over here its more for the kids, which is great if you have them like me but there is also a lot of anti-social behaviour over here that comes with it, it would be so much nicer if we could celebrate it like the Americans and actually look forward to Halloween as oppose to dreading the eggs and flour you have to wash off your front door the next day…
I so know what you mean!! Sometimes its cold and snowing or cold and raining. And once in awhile we have a warm Halloween like we did last year!! I actually overdressed the kids for trick or treating last year and had to strip some layers off so they could stop sweating!
Who knows what the weather will be like this year. Its crazy here…its warm then its cold then its raining then warm….
im trying to convince my wife to be a playboy bunny for halloween but she doesnt like the idea -_-
