Taking it One Day at a Time since 1996
29 Oct
Have I told you all yet about what my calendar looks like for November? No? It looks like this:
Nov. 2-3: Drive self to Detroit Airport, fly to Memphis, TN. Fly back Sat. night, drive home.
Nov. 5-18: Chris in Phoenix, AZ. Me alone with house, dog, and three kids. There may be drinking.
Nov. 16: Celebrate Kaitlyn’s birthday and Thanksgiving early with my Dad and Stepmother because they are going out of town the next week
Nov. 19: Celebrate Kaitlyn’s birthday at home (don’t forget to find time to shop for presents)
Nov. 22: Thanksgiving
Nov. 23: The day after Thanksgiving, also known as ‘Black Friday’. I usually get up at 5:30 so I can get in line at Target by 6:00. Yes, I am insane. But I love getting the good bargains!
Needless to say, I am reconsidering my decision to participate in NaBloPoMo this year. I love the traffic, I love the sense of participating in a big group activity, but since I post every day on this blog anyway…I don’t know. I just don’t want to over-commit myself, especially since I will have DVD, product, and book reviews to do as well, plus there’s my $2000 plan. So, I probably won’t.
So that’s my November! Doesn’t it sound fun? ![]()

I can relate to all of this expect one…Black Friday. Last year was my first year EVER doing Black Friday. I was up at 3am to be in line at 4am. I stood in line until 6am in the FREEZING.COLD.WEATHER. I did that just to get my hands on just 6 items that I was wanting that was going for a very cheap price. If I go this year there had better be much more that I want! Being rundown as the doors open and my toes so cold I can no longer feel it and then having people run over my heels as the doors open to just fall flat on my face is so NOT WORTH IT TO ME!
Oh man. As much as my husband drives me nuts — it would be tough to be without him for two weeks!
And I thought my November looked crazy!! I wish you the best in getting that all done. My step daughter’s birthday is ON Thanksgiving. Guess how fun that sounds? LOL
Might as well invest in a case of wine because after relatives you’ll need it too lol
I don’t do shopping so that won’t bother me. My November consists of a lot of days off my FT job because I’m over in hours for my vacation and I refuse to lose them since they won’t just pay them. December looks the same way.
Becky-Every year I say I probably won’t go shopping on Black Friday, and every year I cave in and go anyway! Target always has DVDs really cheap, and my kids always want at least one of the toys on the “hot list”. So I’ll probably end up going. I just wish I had a bunch of friends to go with-I always feel jealous of the groups of ladies that go from store to store with each other.
Cathy-I know! Fortunately for me, my oldest son is so much help around the house. He’ll help me keep the other two in line.
Oh my god, you have a very busy life!!
You’vgot a lot on the menu, Elizabeth. You ionly need to do it if you really want to.
Graham-I’m not going to do NaBloPoMo on this blog, that’s definite. And keeping busy will help the time pass while my husband is gone, too. I appreciate your supportive comment, you are a good friend to have
Certainly looks like a busy month! Taking an overnight trip out of town is something I am trying not to envy right now… ahh, I love getting to do those type of things. Unfortunately, the only one coming up for me is a couple hours away and is going to be business the entire time.
Sounds about right. I’ve been pretending I’m not busy because I haven’t scribbled everything down on the calendar yet - it’s all either in my head, in emails, or on scraps of paper randomly strewn about the kitchen.
Kaitlyn can’t be almost 2yo, can she? Yikes. Shop for presents online. Seriously. Don’t bother trying to get all the kids out of the house unless you have to.
Hey, at least I can commiserate on the lack of a hubby during the last part of Chris’s trip - mine has to go to Montana. Again. *sigh*
Have you mentioned what you’re doing in Memphis, or am I a total spaz?
Perros-My trip will be all business as well
