When was the last time you watched a stand-up comedy special that was appropriate for not only you to watch but your children as well? Wouldn’t it be great, on Thanksgiving, to be able to leave the dinner table, pants unbuttoned, bellies full of turkey and pie, and sit down to watch a DVD that will be funny to your 65 year old father and to your 13 year old niece?
I have just the DVD for you. It’s hosted by Tim Conway, who some of you should remember from the Carol Burnett Show (I’m not THAT old am I?), and it’s called “Thou Shalt Laugh 2: The Deuce”. Now, don’t let the “Thou” and the “Shalt” turn you off of this. It’s from the producers of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, it also stars Saturday Night Live’s Victoria Jackson, as well as a bunch of other comedians who are just plain funny. There is no “Christian” feel to it at all. There are also no jokes with the words “pimp”, “bit**”, or “ho” in them, either. No jokes about sex, drug use, or anything else that would make you cringe while Great-Aunt Mary is watching.
I have three clips you can watch, and then at the end of that, I have a special promo code created just for my readers (yay!) that will save you $2.00 off your purchase. I have a pretty raunchy sense of humor, so I was skeptical that these comedians would only be mildly entertaining. I was wrong. Even Tim Conway, bless his heart, cracked me up. My favorite comedian on the DVD, who isn’t featured in one of these clips, is Dan Nainan. He is half Indian and half Asian, so his joke is that he is both Harold AND Kumar. And the audience laughed, which means they are familiar with that movie, about two guys who drive around stoned all night looking for White Castle! So see, not a “conservative” DVD at all. Just really, really funny.

I wouldn’t say it was funny if it wasn’t!

It’s so rareto find something that is actually FUNNY.
Graham-I agree! This is actually funny without being foul and rude. If you look up this DVD on Amazon.com, it shows suggestions for other DVDs by these same comedians, there’s one called “Clean Comedy Tour” or something like that.
Hey Table, whoever you are, thank you so much for the kind words, I appreciate it very much!
Feel free to e-mail me at any time.

Great post…I find that Brian Regan does some pretty good stuff and it’s all clean. I’d watch it with my kids
