I take that back, there ARE safe toys for Christmas!!!

From now until Christmas, I am going to be reviewing as many safe, lead-paint free, non-toxic toys as possible, both here and on MomReviews. Does anyone know how to make those buttons in Photoshop? I’d like one that reads “Totally Awesome Holiday Gift Guide”. My first review is of two beautiful items sold by Oompa Toys.

This all natural, soft towel doll is called “Cuddle Rabby”, has an exceptionally soft, velvety body, and by Keptin Jr. in the Netherlands and handmade in Lithuania. The body is 100% cotton velvet, and the head is filled with pure wool. This would make a wonderful new baby gift, or a gift for any child who loves having a soft “lovey” to hold. It’s sure to be well-loved!

This beautiful set of blocks is called Creanimaux Farm. The set pictured is from the Oompa Toys website and is larger than the one I have, which contains 29 brightly colored shapes that combine to make 6 different animals-pig, rabbit, cow, zebra, dog, and rooster. When Kaitlyn saw the box, she could hardly wait for me to get it open. I showed her how to make each animal using the box for a guide (if you buy this, save the box. It’s not that big, and there’s no booklet inside showing how to make the animals). Then Kaitlyn played on her own with it for about another half hour, stacking up the blocks and knocking them over. I can see these blocks being a favorite for a long time!

Oompa Toys carries unique, natural wooden toys from around the world, and I feel completely secure in recommending them to you. They carry every category of toy imaginable, from organic plush toys to play kitchen food made from chemical-free wood. These are the kinds of toys that won’t end up broken in little bits at the bottom of the toy box by the middle of January. I’ve been browsing the site with Kaitlyn, and she points to every page on the screen saying “play! play! please?”. So Oompa Toys gets Kaitlyn’s stamp of approval, too. I hope this review has been helpful to you, and I will have more toy reviews coming up in the next few weeks. Let’s all have a safe toy Christmas!

I’ll be happy to make your buttons for ya sis, I’ll call you tomorrow and get the dimensions from ya. I’m SO on the boat with you on this one. I’ll even row and let you ride up in front like George Washington! But you have to promise to stand with one leg up in front like ol’ George is immortalized by Emanuel Luetze in Washington crossing the Delaware River :)

I am a mom and pop, small, and just starting out educational toy/kit company. I was a teacher for 15 years and now an educational consultant who decided there has to be a way so every child will have a great start learning and playing. Please check out my kits at http://www.loving2learn.com and play it safe!

SabrinaT-I’ve got links up on my sidebar to Magic Cabin, which carries safe toys, and also a widget that displays Lead-Free Toys as well. With a little digging, it is possible to find safe toys!
