*On Halloween, while we were trick-or-treating, there was a house with a plastic ghost in front of the porch, and Kaitlyn wouldn’t walk past it.
*Words and phrases-Every morning, I walk into her room, and Kaitlyn is standing there in her crib. The first thing she does is show me the blankets she sleeps with and she says to me “Two blankets, Mama”. But her word for blanket sounds like beh-det. I always let the dog out first thing, and then when I lay Kaitlyn on the changing table, she says to me “Elvis peeing”. Her Elvis word sounds like “Ehbis”. Then she’ll say “Elvis barking”, only she can’t say “k”, she says “t”. So it comes out as “Ehbis bahting”. But I know what she means.
*Nathan sneezed at the dinner table the other day, and Kaitlyn said “Bless you, Nah Nah”. None of us taught her to say that.
*She calls balloons “ah-moons”.
*When you ask her a question, she sometimes says “no…yes”. And she always says yes with a nod of her head.
*Today, I ate a muffin for breakfast that I had bought from the grocery store bakery. Kaitlyn saw the wrapper on the counter, pointed to it, and said “muffin”. She knew what the wrapper was for even though there was nothing in it. Such a clever girl.
I know there’s more, but it’s late and I can’t think of any. I’m going to keep doing this though, because she’s picking up more words every day, and I want to remember. It’s something I didn’t do for the boys, and I regret it. It will be wonderful to be able to look back at these posts one day.

what a great idea, Elizabeth. I regret not writing down what they said in those early days. of course, what they’re saying now at 9 and 11 is pretty amusing, so I should probably start recording it.

Marsha-Thanks! You know my boys are also 9 (well, in a month) and 11, and all they talk about is Lego Star Wars, Halo 3, and Bionicles! But I should listen closer for those candid moments, maybe I’ll hear something I should write down
She is such a pretty little person. Her body is catching up with her head.

Amazing how mom always (usually) understands, even though the words are a little different. I remember when my kids were little, and I’d know exactly what they were saying, even though everyone else had no idea – at least for a while.
Do keep up recording this stuff. You will love having it. I don’t have anything for my daughter and only a handwritten list of the words my son was using when he was just a little guy. They grow up so fast!
That’s what I love about blogging
My aunt told me that I should print out what I write about my baby boogers and save it for them. I love the words the little ones say, your daughters words are so sweet!
Recently my 2 1/2 yr old has said pumpkwin, and she has been so excited about being able to pick out her own, and says the word so often, that I started saying pumpkwin too LOL! She likes to eat “wah-kels ” for breakfast, and loves her bankettes in her bed too.
This is great! I’ll have to steal your idea. There are plenty of words coming out of Aaron too. My favourite at the moment is the way he says ‘helmet’. He pronounces it ‘ehma’ in a really nasally way.

She is so sweet! And look how much she’s grown up just since I met her in July! Happy Birthday (early) sweety!
I love recording what kids say. It’s so fun…and you’re right…it will be nice to look back on them!
