The only positive thing to come out of the whole lead-paint-on-toys debacle is the discovery of wonderful websites that carry safe European toys, like Oompa Toys. Kaitlyn received this adorable Organic Dragon, with gold “spikes” and “claws” and a sweet little smile on his face. She hugs him tight and then says “rrrrrAWrrrrrr”, and then puts him in her little shopping cart and pushes him up and down the hallway. It’s so cute! His coat is 100% Organic cotton, and he is stuffed with 100% sheep’s wool. Best of all, he can be machine washed on cold and tumbled dry on low in case of getting a red Tootsie Pop stuck to him (not that it has happened…yet.)
I’ll be honest, at $56.99,Kallisto is more expensive than the stuffed animals you can buy at stores. But you are paying for the highest quality and the organic and natural materials, too. And the machine washability means these toys are more likely to last years, you can pass them down to younger children or cousins or friends-so, if it lasts even five years, that’s just over $10 a year for a high quality toy your child will love!
