What are your favorite flowers?

Author: Elizabeth

It has been years since I had flowers delivered to someone! Is that something people still do, send flowers? I like to look at those sites that have the bouquets already made up, in cute planters or coffee mugs, with little balloons or stuffed animals tucked inside. I think those are really cute! It would be nice to send flowers to someone. Or maybe a fancy box of chocolate truffles like this one! (I could send those to myself, right? lol)

My Mother loved daisies. Chris’ Mom liked Forget-Me-Nots. I like pink roses, personally. I had a beautiful bunch of them in my wedding bouquet, and Chris brought them to me in the hospital each time one of the kids was born.

Edited to add: Um, I sort of forgot a closing sentence here. It just sort of…stops. So, let’s pretend this was in the original post-what are your favorite flowers? Do you like to get the same kind or be surprised? When was the last time you got flowers?

I pick chocolate over flowers, but with flowers I like a mixed bouquet – nothing fancy :)

Hey, you won a “major award” at my Spilt Milk blog. Come check it out. LOL.

I was actually surprised just a couple of days ago with Monkey bringing me home a BEAUTIFUL bouquet with pink roses, lady slipper orchids, stargazer lilies, eucalyptus and these pretty blue flowers that I can’t place in a vase with a big gorgeous bow for no other reason than I was feeling a little blue for no particular reason and he wanted to make me smile. It was the single most romantic moment in at least a month. I’m feeling EXTREMELY guilty that I didn’t take a picture of it while the flowers were at their best but my photography just sort of has to happen. I have to be able to see something and have it hit me in a photo I’d like to do. Those are the ones that most often turn out how I want them. When I see something and think .. “hrmmm I should probably take a picture of that..” it doesn’t seem to inspire if that makes sense. At any rate, believe it or not he had a beautiful bouquet of my favorite roses (the ones that are bright orange in the center and fire red at the edge of each petal) delivered just a few weeks ago, too. And I am a very grateful girl :)

i love anything that is unexpected…irises, orchids, gerber daisys. nothing too fussy. simplicity is key, for me. and let’s face it, in our self-centered society, any sort of selflessness is welcome!

Nothing is more romantic than sending flowers to someone, especially if you get them delivered at the right time, like at work so everyone can see.

There’s nothing more beautiful than a vase with flowers in the living room, but if I can choose the flowers, I would select roses :)
