I’m lucky that my husband is so handy with computers-so far, there hasn’t been a problem he can’t fix. But what do you do if you need Laptop Repair and don’t have a computer geek for a husband? SparePartsWarehouse, a division of a Dayton IT Services Provider, has a convenient mail-in laptop repair service. You fill out a form describing the problem, and if you get a reply that they can fix it, you ship them your laptop, they email you an estimate, do the repairs, and ship it back.

If you have a Toshiba, HP, Compaq, Sony or IBM laptop, and you need a new screen, you can search the site’s Laptop LCD Screens inventory to see if they have a replacement part available. The site has simple instructions for removing the screen in order to get the model number. Well, at least the site calls the instructions simple, you do need a Phillip’s screwdriver and a “sharp pointy object” like a thumbtack.

    There are also quite a few flat rate laptop repair services that do the same thing. For around $99 – $159, you just ship it to them, they fix it and ship it back.

    In some cases, even though I run a computer repair shop I end up sending my laptop repairs to them, as it’s cheaper.
