This is a really good deal, people. Lifelock is a company that offers Identity Theft Prevention backed with a One Million Dollar Service Guarantee for only ten dollars a month. The more I read the website, the more I think this is something that everyone should use. The CEO of the company (who has his Social Security Number posted in a huge font at the top of the page) admits that most of what his company does, you could do yourself for free. But just like you could change your own oil, you pay a company to do it for you. You can cook your own food, but you go to restaurants. In that same respect, you can pay Lifelock to monitor your credit and other identifying information and protect you from identity theft.
This is what you get for your $10.00 a month:
*They ask the credit bureaus to set up fraud alerts on your behalf.
*They ask the credit bureaus to check the fraud alerts every 90 days.
*They request that your name be removed from pre-approved credit card and junk mail lists and keep making the requests as they expire.
*They order free credit reports for you each year and have them sent directly to you.
*They offer WalletLock -if your wallet gets stolen, a LifeLock rep will help you contact credit bureaus and your credit card companies, cancel your affected accounts and reapply.
*If your identity is somehow stolen while you are a member, they do whatever it takes to restore it-including hiring lawyers, investigators, whatever you need.
That’s a pretty good deal for ten bucks a month, don’t you think?

The LifeLock commercial where their CEO is walking around handing out his social is priceless. Definitely a good marketing ploy and judging from all of the good reviews floating around, this sounds like a solid service as well.

$10/mo or $10/year? Because $10/mo with a family of 5, well, yeah. Ouch. For some reason I just don’t think it should be that much… Huh, maybe I’m remembering figures wrong, apparently the family plan DR’s got for ID Theft protection is $12.50/mo (for *all* spouses and dependents)… I’m going to go crawl back into my corner now.

$10/month. I’m thinking this is the kind of thing that would be useful for someone that uses a lot of credit cards in different places. The more I think about how easy it would be for the waiter at a restaurant to copy down my card numbers, the more I think I should just carry envelopes of cash
Sounds like a great deal for a mere ten bucks a month!? That’s doesn’t sound right? Seems like there would be a catch, like a downpayment. Hmm, thanks for the info.
I would pay more than 10$/month for such a service. Identity theft is a serious issue, it can happen to anyone and it can really mess up ones life.
LifeLock is an excellent service- I use it myself. One thing I would add is that there are some limitation on the recovery guarantee that is offered as part of the service, so its a good idea to read all the fine print so you know exactly what is and isn’t covered before you need it.
