Best video response EVER-Jimmy Kimmel

Jimmy Kimmel gets back at girlfriend Sarah Silverman for her “I’m F***ing Matt Damon” video with a video of his own. His guest on tonight’s show is Ben Affleck, and wait till you see the video they made, titled “I’m F***ing Ben Affleck”.

If I knew how, I would upload the DVR recording I made to YouTube and maybe even be first, but I have no idea how to do it. As soon as I find it though, your damn skippy I’m going to post it, because it is brilliant. edited to add: here it is, although edited and with a laugh track-

It wasn’t just Jimmy, Ben, and a guitar, either, oh no. They got cameo appearances by Brad Pitt, plus a “We Are The World” type singing group made up of stars like Don Cheadle, Harrison Ford, Huey Lewis, Cameron Diaz, Orlando Bloom, and Robin Williams.

On the show, Jimmy told Ben that now they need a celebrity nickname, like Bennifer or Brangelina. My suggestion? You read it here first, folks–KIMFLECK.

Get free magnets from VistaPrint

So now that I’m raising funds to go to BlogHer, I’m also thinking ahead to having something to hand out while I am there. I already have a business card made, but it’s also fun to have some small gift to hand out to people. When I saw this deal from VistaPrint, I thought it would be fun to hand out a small magnet to people along with my business card.

VistaPrint has a bunch of different kinds of magnets, including save the date magnets, larger magnets with a small calendar printed on them, and large and small personal magnets. I used the logo from my product review blog because I want to promote it while I am at BlogHer, and after resizing it exactly to fit VistaPrint’s specifications, it ended up like this:

It costs extra to use a custom uploaded image as opposed to one of VistaPrint’s designs, but if you find something on the site that you like, you can get 25 small magnets for free by using coupon code Blog25FreeMag when you check out. And once you upload an image once (which costs $4.99 for the hosting), you can then use that same image for free for other items, like notepads, business cards, stamps, postcards, and address labels. And VistaPrint is always running specials on free or deeply discounted items, too. It’s my favorite site for custom printing!

So if you come to BlogHer this summer, make sure to ask me for a magnet. And then you can have my daughter’s eyes gazing down at you from your refrigerator door forever :)

Operation “Get My Butt To BlogHer”
Has Begun!

Okay, so I know I said I wasn’t going to go to BlogHer this summer, but it would seem that there are actually other bloggers who, well, want to hang out with me. With ME! And they have all been so kind in their emails and IMs, asking me isn’t there some way I can make it happen? I’m not going to win the BlogHer website’s contest, I already know that, because it involves writing a winning post about how I’m helping my family be more healthy this year and, well, I’m not. So, Plan B.

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I please introduce to you my ChipIn Widget:

Isn’t that a nice looking widget? But isn’t that a SCARY looking number? $1,000. One THOUSAND dollars. That is the amount I will need to pay for registration, my share of a hotel room (depending on occupancy and how many nights, I’m planning on needing $400 which is two nights if I share with one other person. It will be less if there are four of us in the room). The absolute cheapest airfare I can find on ANY airline is $450. So I’m rounding down a bit and getting an approximate amount of $1,000. YIKES!!!

So, the purpose of the ChipIn widget is this-if you should happen to be looking for an incredibly worthy cause for donation purposes, please considering donating any amount at all to my BlogHer fund. I’ll be trying to find only the most worthy of paid posts to do to make some extra money, and as the amount I have saved goes up, I’ll change the widget to reflect the actual amount I still need to raise.

And in case you’re now thinking to yourself “who does this chick think she IS, asking us to give her money for a blogging conference?”, let me plead my case like this-I went last year because I was invited to speak (free registration) and it was in Chicago (took the train, $40 round trip). While there, I made contacts with companies that I am still working with today, like MomCentral and Coburn PR and eMomsAtHome. I absolutely think that the contacts I made last year have made Table for Five and MomReviews better blogs. And every time I go, I learn more and get better at it. So you would be investing in the FUTURE OF THIS BLOG, and that’s pretty cool.

/shameless financial pleading

edited to add: I applied for a BlogHerShip today, for one of the registration/goodie bag desk positions. I would get free conference registration in exchanging for working. So keep your fingers crossed for me!

Romantic Vacations

My husband and I are really having some issues right now, and who knows how long it might be before we can take time to even go out on a date let alone take a romantic vacation. The last time we did, it was so long ago I can’t even remember what year it was, but he was working in Nashville, so I sent the boys to my MILs during Spring Break and spent a few days with him there.

We are hoping to take a family vacation this year, I doubt it will be very romantic but it will still be nice to get away. I’m lobbying for Orlando, because there are just so many things to do in Orlando-Epcot, Disney, etc. As always, I’ll be looking to my old faithful site Trusted Tours & Attractions for other suggestions of things we can do there, since my husband’s tolerance for theme parks is somewhat limited. Maybe we could take a boat cruise or find a cool museum or something. Even better, on their newsletter sign-up page, you can win a free digital camera just for signing up.

Check out Trusted Tours & Attractions if you are looking for vacation ideas. Maybe you’ll even get lucky and end up having a romantic vacation!
