Dalmatian Spots, that is! Ever since Disney released the new Two-Disc Platinum Edition of 101 Dalmatians yesterday, it seems like I’m seeing the movie everywhere. Yesterday I logged into Photobucket to upload an image, and the whole background of the page was an ad for the movie.
I received the DVD to review, and Nathan and Kaitlyn watched it with me. Kaitlyn kept pointing to the screen saying “puppies! So cute and cuddly”
The movie has been restored with the colors brightened and improvements to the sound. It’s the disc of Bonus Features that really make this a must-buy for Disney fans. There’s a virtual Dalmatian game that lets kids play with a puppy and find out which type of dog they would be best suited for, a “fun with language” game aimed at teaching preschoolers numbers and the names of common household items, as well as a music video, and two separate “101 Facts” tracks that play along with the movie and show pop-up trivia.
I’ve got links that go to clips from the movie, and they are in Macromedia, so you should be able to see them whether you are using a PC or a Mac. If you can’t see them, email me and I can send you Windows Media Player or Quicktime links instead. And then, go out and rent or buy 101 Dalmatians: Two-Disc Platinum Edition! It’s a lot of fun for people of all ages.

I definitely to get that movie for my 2 year old. She sees the commercials on TV & also yells out Puppies (I think she gets it from Dora the Explorer-the puppy/dog catcher episode). We have a french poddle & “dog” was one of her early words but now she calls her “puppy” (I think Peaches, the dog, is taking this as a compliment since she is 15 1/2 years old!).
