Social Spark combines paid blogging with social networking

Author: Elizabeth

Let me tell you about the newest way to get paid to blog-Social Spark. I can’t show it to you yet, because it’s still being tested (I’m an Alpha tester, how cool is that?), but SocialSpark is going to be HOT. I know that the debate over whether bloggers should write posts for which they have been paid is a controversial topic, but let me ask you this-if you are a stay at home Mommy Blogger, did you earn any money last year with your blog? Were you able to choose topics that interested you and your readers and get paid to write about them? Did you join a supportive community of bloggers who worked together to make sweeping changes to the company they all wrote posts for? I DID!

Whatever you might know about PayPerPost, you might not realize that last year, the company was reformed as part of IZEA. Social Spark combines a place to look for paid blogging opportunities with a personal page that features each blogger’s personal info, a friends list, a comment section, even a way to communicate directly with advertisers. It’s like Facebook plus MySpace plus GETTING PAID TO BLOG.

IZEA has also made great improvements in the types of paid blogging opportunities they offer, looking more for topics that interest parents. In the past few months there have been advertisers for children’s clothing stores, online coupon sites, home decorating, and recipe sites. I can honestly say that in the last year that I have been blogging for IZEA, I have made true friends, learned more about HOW to blog than I ever thought I would, and made several thousand dollars that I never would have made otherwise.

If you would like to be notified when Social Spark is available you can click this link and leave your name and email address. I know it’s not for everyone, but why not check it out and see if it’s for you?

I think I’m going to love Social Spark. I’m pretty sure I signed up for updates or information or whatever a while back, but I haven’t gotten anything. Either there hasn’t been any emailed info or my email is sending things to the Junk folder, which it has a habit of doing. Is there a chance you could give me the email address they use so I can add it to my contacts – so I won’t miss anything?

    Thanks.

Jenny-Did you get an Alpha tester key? If so, and you have questions about how to use the site, I’ll be happy to help!

Social Spark sounds like a very cool concept, I’d love to know more! I entered my email address for updates on their site.

How do you get so much traffic on your blog? Any helpful tips for a new blogger?

    I’ve enjoyed your site. Thanks!

Also, for Anna, above, did you get the confirmation email when you entered your email address? It had a link to confirm you got it…

Rhea-This blog is 2.5 years old, so I’ve been slowly building traffic for a long time! But I have to say, joining PayPerPost (now IZEA) and Entrecard has definitely helped. My advice to new bloggers is, post good content, and visit other bloggers and leave good comments. Join social networking sites like Maya’s Mom and Cre8buzz, and just have fun with blogging!
