Info on Planters and Outdoor Decor

Author: Elizabeth

While driving past our neighbor’s house the other evening, I noticed they had several very large window boxes sitting on the curb in front of their house, where people in our neighborhood leave things that are free for the taking. After we pulled into our driveaway, I asked my husband to walk down there and check them out. We have a brick ledge that runs the length of our house in the front, and there’s nothing on it, and that ledge is just begging to have window box planters on it.

So he walked down, and sure enough, it was three huge planter boxes, painted white, that looked barely used. My husband is still working on figuring out how to attach them to the brick ledge, but now that I’ve looked at them more, I’ve got this idea for all kinds of different outdoor planters that we could use on our patio too. I found a website called Planterixchange, pronounced “Planter Exchange”, and they sell beautiful flower pots, terrariums for starting seeds indoors, outdoor fountains, and more.

The site is really easy to search by type, color, material, and price. We have this back patio that is pretty much just a big square slab of concrete, and in the three years we’ve lived here I haven’t done anything with it at all. But now I’m looking at Planterixchange and envisioning pots of beautiful flowers and greens placed at the corners of the patio. It might even make me want to take my laptop outside and work out there surrounded by pretty flowers! Too bad Planterixchange doesn’t sell green thumbs :)

I wish we had room in our apartment to plant some things! A few people have flowers out on the front door of some of the buildings, but I’m not quite that brave. I’m pretty sure they’re in violation of their lease. But it’s so pretty!

I love window boxes and I totally get your curiosity. I’m forever checking out my neighbor’s gardens on my morning walks!
