Dear Readers,
You know those pinball machines in arcades, the one where you pull back the thingy and release it, then a metal ball goes wildly pinging around as you smack buttons with your hands to make flippers hit the metal ball and keep it moving at all times?
I feel exactly like that metal ball.
I have so much going on right now, it’s a little like being buried in sand and trying to dig my way out. And then I had to go and cause myself a bunch of blog drama. For the record? Yes, I did think Sweetney probably shouldn’t have posted those Twitters about Mrs. Fussypants. Should I have thought twice before just unleashing my wildly pinging thoughts about the situation onto a blog post? Yep. I could have emailed Alli, told her I was sorry about what happened and that she always has my support, then I could have emailed Tracey and said dude, what was up with those Twitters, and that could have been the end of it. Instead, I had to post it here for the world (or at least the feed subscribers I have left after a whole bunch of them unsubscribed) to read.
It’s like, if you mess up something at work, do you want your coworker to go to your boss or come to you first and say hey, you messed up? Most people would prefer to hear about a complaint directly. I should have emailed Alli to say I was sorry for what happened, and I should have emailed Tracey to let her know that maybe it wasn’t the coolest thing for her to do, and that should have been it.
To all the people who have commented, what I should do is email each one of you separately and reply to your thoughtful comments. But I can’t do that and I’d like to please explain why. You see, I have found myself in a situation that is requiring a Herculean effort to climb out of. I am expending an impossible amount of mental energy right now. See, I agreed to do a few product reviews and hold a few giveaways. And then I agreed to do a few more. And I started ignoring my email inbox to, you know, play with my kids and stuff. And now, I have over 1,000 opened and unopened emails and 23 reviews and giveaways that all HAVE to be done before I go to BlogHer in 2 weeks.
I also have to order business cards, buy an outfit for the Saturday cocktail party at Macy’s with all kinds of fanciness which means not a t-shirt and jeans, buy a new rolling suitcase I can carry on to the plane (I’d like to avoid checking a bag as well as hauling two suitcases from the airport to the train to the hotel), figure out how I’m going to get to and from the Detroit Airport, buy a sweater because apparently it’s kind of cold in San Francisco, buy two new bras because my current ones are doing nothing to improve my figure, OH, and use a $50 Meijer gift card I was sent for checking out the HP Photo Printer and make a photo book or something, which requires choosing and cropping the photos. And I’m sure a dozen more things will come up between now and the 17th.
So, dear readers, that’s what’s going on behind the scenes of Table for Five right now. I appreciate every single one of you who take the time to comment on any of my posts, whether you agree with what I’ve written or not. I still feel like I’m between a rock and a hard place on the whole Twitter thing. For those of you who unsubscribed, I hope you come back. I’ve been told that most of the time, Table for Five is a pretty nice blog to read
xoxo
Elizabeth

Drama sucks. I didn’t read the twitter stuff or your response and I’m trying to not read about it….
So, not knowing what happened…
We’re all human. Live, Love, Learn and pass it on…
Have fun at BlogHer. I wish I was going too! Maybe next year!
I still understand where you are coming from and still consider you a friend no matter what! I’m behind you…just had to give my opinion on the subject. No hard feelings at all from me with the way you handled things! I’m still here and will continue to be here too!
PS If you need any help email me and I will what I can do:)
We’ve all said things in haste that we wish we could retract. At this point, you can only wipe your hands clean of it and move on. If anything, Elizabeth, it shows all of us how passionate you are.
There are a whole bunch of us that stuck our feet in the crap and feel bad about it.
I try to avoid drama but I’m such an emotional person that I always seem to enter the fray to some extent or another.
While I wasn’t horrible like some, I did open my yap and say a couple of things I regret.
I think that you can only chalk it up to being human and move on.
I’d be happy to do another guest review if you would like. Say the word.
don’t you think you over reacted??
by the way is this blog over???
I totally understand how drama can run away with you. I think it’s lame that people unsubscribed, especially if they were fellow bloggers. We bloggers need each other, and a little spat like this shouldn’t ruin our relationships.
I’m still a loyal reader!
You are just too sweet and hard on yourself.
Bouncer - um yeah, I think that’s pretty much what this post and the post previous to this post stated (as far as feeling as though she over-reacted) and I’m completely unsure where you’ve gotten the idea that her blog is over. I’m going to have to assume that you either did not read the actual posts being referred to or you’re actually an illiterate monkey getting lucky at random keyboard strokes.
If I had a dollar for every time I stuck my foot in my mouth, I would have a nice little nest egg going.
I could tell that you were really upset in the original post and that you were letting your feelings known. Hopefully, others will remember that they too are human, that they too make mistakes.
Family comes first - sometimes you just have to ignore your inbox!
When I find myself overwhelmed like that I simply delete eerything. Anything important will be resent or I will be contacted in other ways. It’s hard to do this the first time but once you do it and realize the sky didn’t fall down, it is very liberating. Don’t be a slave to emaiL!
i dont use twitter that much
I understand you can get upset on things like that. It is good you post to express your feelings. I agree that everybody makes mistakes and that they should remember that
I’m glad that you’ve decided to take steal away some time for yourself and, you know, breath.
See you in San Francisco, Sweetie!
Hang in there! Make sure you take care of yourself & family first!Thank you for visiting my blog…I just emailed you about the BornFit maternity pullover. No hurry!
***hugs***
It’ll blow over, sweetcheeks. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Everyone makes mistakes, and the people who love you (hi!) don’t care one way or another if they agree or disagree with you on silly blog drama. xo
Have fun at BH!
