First one was a little Mormon girl who had her new boyfriend of a week sleeping in our room by then - she was on the top bunk. Apparently those squeaky metal bunk beds were sorta sturdy. I got good at getting dried off and dressed after a shower without the guy seeing anything but leg (I even had conversations with him while drying off - it was a *small* room). Apparently they broke up a few months later after Summer Start was over. Oh, they also decided that the fridge and TV I had were theirs as well, so when I came back from work at 10:30pm (I was the only one that had a job!), I wasn't allowed to just chill in my own dorm room because 5-7 people were in there (and sitting on my bed) watching tv and whatnot. Gah.

Second one was literally a troll - she was short with big fluffy hair and totally looked kinda like those troll dolls from days gone by, never left the room after the first few weeks, made no friends, etc. Spent more time with my ex when he flew up to visit than I did because I still went to my classes.

I gave up with roommates after that. Well, unless you count sharing the farmhouse with my uncle during harvest one year, but we got along really well. :)

All those changes and yet we're not an ounce safer, just a bucket less free :(

It's truly a tragedy that the loss of so much life lead only to the loss of freedom for those still living. When will we learn?
