Private Practice and big surprise, even sicker

Well, I don’t know what I caught, but in the last 18 hours, I have been completely miserable for most of it. I woke up at 2:00 am this morning freezing cold. It was not cold in our bedroom, but I was racked with shivers. I ended up getting out of bed and getting a fleece blanket out of the linen closet, wrapping it around myself, then getting under the sheet and blanket again. It took a while but I finally warmed up and was able to sleep.

My friend Kellie S. had come over last night to help Nathan and I get boxes up out of the basement for the garage sale today. Yes, sick as I was, we were determined to participate in the neighborhood garage sale. The sale was supposed to start at 8:00, so I had set my alarm clock for 6:30 so I could get up, shower, make coffee, and starting setting up the tables. Instead, I slept until 8:00. I slid out of bed and stood up, and this wave of blinding pain washed through the inside of my head. The more I moved, the worse it was. It took about an hour, two Tylenol Rapid Release gels, a big cup of coffee, and a lot of moaning and groaning before the pain went away.

The good news is, after taking back the $50 I used to make change at the beginning of the sale, we netted $170 and change! I was so surprised that we did that well. We had some porcelain Harlequin dolls that had belonged to Chris’ Grandma that this guy bought for his MIL for $45.00, I sold a bunch of old DVDs at $1 each, and people were even buying videotapes for a quarter each. After five hours though, even just sitting in a chair in the shade of the garage, I was completely worn out, so Chris packed up the rest of the stuff and we came in so I could rest.

I crawled back into bed and finished watching the DVD box set of Private Practice. I don’t know how I completely missed the show last season, but I really, really like it. Of course it doesn’t hurt that two of the show’s stars are Tim Daly and Taye Diggs which hello, HOTTNESS. But more than that, the story lines are compelling to watch. Kate Walsh, Amy Brenneman, Audra McDonald and Paul Adelstein, along with Daly and Diggs, are all theater and Broadway trained actors who know how to play off each other. Oh, and lets not leave out KaDee Strickland as the hospital doctor that both annoys and helps the Oceanside Wellness practitioners, and Chris Lowell as Dell, the office manager who makes sure everyone has everything they need but is also keeping a secret.
