That’s what I said to my husband this morning as he was walking out the door for work. I’ve been saying that to him every time he leaves the house for as long as I can remember. Not because he’s a bad driver or because I need to worry, but as a way of, I don’t know, sending the words out into the Universe as sort of a protective blanket around him. If I say I Love You, Drive Carefully, then the Universe knows that my husband has someone who cares and will keep him extra safe on his commute.
Does that make sense to anybody else? Share with me in a comment, do you have a ritual like that with your spouse or loved one? Something that you always say or do that makes you feel better about sending them out into the world? I can’t be the only one ![]()

Hi, I’ve tagged you on my blog, hip2bmom.com.
Oddly, I say this to my mom every time she is leaving from a visit.
You know, every Sunday I go photo-hunting, I drive 1 hour from the city I live in – and if my hubby forgets to kiss me good buy – the day goes wrong. not just wrong, but WRONG. actually, it gets ruined… last time he forgot, I fell, had my knees badly hurt and saved my camera in a very miraculous way (it was nearly on the ground). If he forgets now, I get back and demand to get kissed:)

I say this to my daughter and husband all the time. One time he said, of course, I’ll drive safely, wrapping my car around a tree is NOT the hotness.
So, needless to say, I had to laugh

Every day (well, 3rd day since he works 24 hour shifts) I tell my husband “smell you later.” Haha.
This is great! This goes alone the movie and book “The Secret”…I love this! My wife and I say the same thing to ourselves “I love You” as much as we can, also we say it everyday to our wonderful little boys! I do travel a lot and offshore fish as well..so we do it for the same reasons….for the universe to hear us!
Thanks for sharing this!

You are still an awesome BabySpot Mom Blogger!
I always say that to Lynn. When the kids lived at home and would be heading out the door, I always said, “watch for deer”. LOL It is a joke now. We all say that to each other.
It can be scary. A foreign truck driver crashed into and killed an entire family of five in Britain last week.
