Order Charter’s Ultimate Bundle and get $250 gift card!

So, I just learned from Wikipedia that tomorrow, the Monday after Thanksgiving, is called “Cyber Monday”. It was named that by a division of the National Retail Federation in 2005 after 77% of online retailers reported a large number of sales on that Monday. Research showed that many people went into work that Monday and made purchases online of items they hadn’t been able to find during traditional “Black Friday” weekend shopping.

You can celebrate Cyber Monday tomorrow in a lot of different ways, including by ordering new cable service from Charter Communications and not only getting a $250 gift card but also being entered to win one of 45 Xbox 360 gaming packages. Visit the Great Offers from Charter page to see all the participating stores, but some of the stores offering the $250 gift card include Home Depot, Kohl’s, Macy’s, Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Shell Gas, Marshall’s, K-B Toys and TJ Maxx. That would make for some very fun Christmas shopping or an awesome gift for someone special!

Get the Charter Communications Ultimate Service Bundle for $165.97 and you get: High Speed Internet (10 Mbps High Speed), Digital Cable with HD, Sports View, Digital View, HBO/Cinemax, Starz/Encore, and Showtime/The Movie Channel, Digital phone with unlimited calling, AND the $250 gift card plus a chance to win an XBOX 360 Pro Console, XBOX Live Headset, Wireless Controller, 20Gb Detachable Hardrive, and Component HD AV Cable. The approximate total retail value of the Daily Prize is $250.00. Wow! For the complete rules go to https://connect.charter.com/XBox/rules.html.

Celebrate Cyber Monday in style by purchasing the best holiday bundle deal on Cable services, get a free $250 gift card to a participating store, and possibly win an XBox game package! Hurry, sign up by December 5th!

Safe pest control

Do you live in one of the following areas?

Portland, Oregon
Medford, Oregon
Eugene, Oregon
Bend, Oregon
Salem, Oregon
Seattle, Washington
Tacoma, Washington
Vancouver, Washington
Olympia, Washington
Boise, Idaho
Denver, Colorado
Phoenix, Arizona
Tucson, Arizona
Dallas, Texas

Are you having a problem with creepy, crawly unwanted visitors in your house? But you don’t want to spread dangerous chemicals around?  Alpha Ecological asked me to spread the word that they offer “green” pest control in the above cities.  They have technicians that can come out and look to see what kind of bugs you have, then develop a treatment that will eliminate them. If you live in Oregon, Washington, or Idaho, you might be having a problem with Hobo Spiders, who live in those areas. They like to live in cluttered areas like basements and crawl spaces. I’m not posting an image, because just typing these words is seriously creeping me out. I cannot stand spiders.

Alpha Ecological offers a variety of services including residential and commercial pest control, air duct cleaning, and crawl space restoration-repairing damage left from pests like carpenter ants. They strive to be able to provide Same-Day or at least Next-Day service, so if you have a pest problem, and live in one of the above cities, give them a call and get the bugs out of your house!

DVD Review- Shrek The Halls

shrek the hallsFeaturing the voices of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas, Shrek the Halls (Widescreen Edition)
lets fans join in on the fun as Shrek celebrates his first Christmas with his new family and learns some important lessons about the spirit of the season.

Just when Shrek thought he could finally sit back, relax and enjoy his happily ever after with his new family, the most joyous of all holidays arrives. It’s Christmas Eve, and everyone is filled with holiday cheer, except for Shrek. He isn’t exactly the picture of yuletide joy, but for the sake of Fiona and the kids, he tries to get into the spirit of things as only an ogre can. Unfortunately, everyone seems to have their own ideas about what Christmas is all about, so when Donkey, Puss In Boots, Gingy and the whole gang try to join in on the fun, Shrek’s plans for a cozy family celebration end up spiraling into one truly unforgettable Christmas.

The Shrek the Halls DVD delivers loads of holiday cheer with jolly bonus features to entertain fans of all ages:

¶ The Twelve Days of Christmas Sing Along—Join along and watch the entire Madagascar gang as they celebrate the holidays in style with their own take on the “Twelve Days of Christmas.” Sing along to the Madagascar-inspired lyrics, including “lemurs leaping, foosas fussing and a penguin who made a loud squeak!” In classic sing-along style, the words appear on screen as the characters perform.
¶ Deck The Halls Sing Along—“Deck the halls, it’s time to party.” This is your chance to sing along with everyone’s favorite Penguins from Madagascar. Join Skipper, Private and Kowalski for their version of the classic holiday song as they get into the spirit of the season.
¶ Gingy’s Dunking Game—Test your skills at being a master baker and make sure you have plenty of flour as you try to match the Gingerbread cookies that come out of the oven with the Gingy that appears on screen.
¶ Shrek Carnival Craze video game demo and cheat code
¶ DreamWorks Animation Video Jukebox

Pick it up on Amazon or at retail locations while you’re out shopping this weekend, then snuggle under blankets with the kids and some hot chocolate and have a great time watching this fun movie!

Get fun holiday eyeglass frames from Zenni Optical

When I met up with my friend Kelly at the movie last night, she pointed to the glasses she was wearing and said “guess what?” I said “oh, you got new glasses!” She says “yeah, I needed new ones so I searched your blog for that post you wrote about Zenni Optical and ordered these glasses from them”! I was so happy that a post I wrote led to someone actually making a purchase! She was able to get bifocals and scratch protection and everything she needed, and she said she paid way less than she would have even from a place like Lenscrafters.

So that got me thinking about the site today, so I went to take a look at what’s new at Zenni. They have in a new selection of Holiday frames, who would have thought? I guess if you really want to show your Christmas spirit, you could swap your regular frames for something in red, or green, or both, like these!

Zenni Optical has the same quality frames and lenses as more expensive stores but they keep their prices low by cutting out the “middleman”. You can spend as little eight dollars on your frames! And, Zenni has a terrific returns policy. If you don’t like your glasses for any reason, you can return them within four weeks and get back 50 percent of your purchase price. You really have nothing to lose by trying them the next time you need new glasses!

The Twilight Movie. Is AWESOME.

Last night I did something I haven’t done since High School- I went to a Midnight Movie. What did I see?

The theater sold out of 2,000 tickets by 1:00 pm yesterday. We got there at 10:30 for the midnight show and almost all of those 2,000 people were already there. They let us into the theater at 10:45, and we sat there for an excruciating 65 minutes and 10 more minutes of previews.

When the movie started, there was an audible intake of breath in the theater. And when Bella is in the cafeteria and the Cullens start walking in, my friend Kelly and I actually started squealing and clutching each other’s arms. I have not felt that excited at a movie since the first Matrix.

It was so, so, so, so good. SO GOOD. They did an amazing job of condensing the story down yet not leaving anything out. Robert Pattinson was so perfectly broody as Edward, and the chemistry between him and Kristen Stewart- YOWSA. The screen was practically oozing with hotness.

I also want to give props to Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob. He’s from Grand Rapids, Michigan which is an hour from my house. And he plays Jack Spivey on My Own Worst Enemy (please, please, please don’t cancel that show, it’s so good). He is really good looking and sweet and does a wonderful job of being sweet to Bella yet totally creepy when Edward comes near him. He’s one to watch.

Of the actors playing the Cullens, Rosalie was scary, Emmett was quiet, Alice was adorable, and Jasper was…certifiably insane, I’m pretty sure. Here’s a still photo of them-

You don’t even have to have read the books to enjoy the movie, Kelly brought her neighbor Heather who hadn’t read any of them and she had no problem following what was going on. So there you have it, my review of the Twilight movie. Go. SEE IT!
