From Briarpatch, the company whose games have won over 300 awards, comes this new strategy and matching game that is fun for kids of all ages! The object of Clothespins! is to collect cards and hang them on your three “clotheslines”. The colorful cards depict pieces of clothing in different patterns, and matches are made like this- three pairs of shorts create a match, or a shirt, socks, and shorts all with the same pattern.

The catch is the “laundry bird” cards, which can be used to swipe laundry from an opponent or move pieces of clothing from one clothesline to another. The game also includes rules for playing with younger children that doesn’t use the laundry bird (trust me, toddlers get kind of upset when you “steal” their cards!).

Each Clothespins! Game comes with 4 game boards, 66 playing cards that feature 12 finishing poles, 49 laundry cards and 5 mischievous birds. The game is designed for children ages 5+, although Kaitlyn sat and played with the boys and I and we just modified the rules so it was fun for her to match up the cards. We had her put all the shirts in a pile, all the pants in a pile, and then had her find all the polka dots, all the stripes. These are great basic skills for preschoolers!
