Proof that there really is a website for everything, ZocDoc is a new site that lists Doctors and Dentists in the New York area and lets you make your appointments, for free, right on the site. So for example, lets say you are looking for a brooklyn dentist. The page will show you Dentists with their address and phone number, and a calendar for this week with open appointment times. Clicking “more about this dentist” shows you information like what languages the Dentist speaks (Richard Giddon, DMD speaks seven languages including Creole and Farsi!) and where they got their education and training.
I know I don’t always want to sit on the phone on hold with a receptionist waiting to find out if someone at my Dentist’s office can see me on a day and time that’s convenient for me. I wish I had the option of going online and finding the day and time that works for me! I hope ZocDoc catches on and comes to my town soon!

I never thought of searching for a dentist online. Mine lives in my neighborhood and he can treat me anytime I want.
You can’t hide from the internet. I tell clients all the time that they might not have a website but they are online. We work with dentists mostly and many are letting the internet revolution slide by. When they finally realize that they need to get online many are way behind. Sites like ZocDoc are everywhere.
Wow, this is pretty cool. I had no idea they had a site like this. BTW, they do now have a feature to book your day & time online. They must have listened to you – good work!
Wow this is great.. It would be nice if they included client reviews as well!
Auto repair shops have been using this technology for some time now. Personally, I think it’s great. I only have a cell phone so my minutes are limited and I would much rather make an appointment online.
An online dental referral ad which lists companies with an appointment form in my area would be great, and could include reviews, as Vince suggested.
If I had a practice, I would jump right this on this as it would make a dental marketing tool.
