If you didn’t see WALL-E in the theater or even if you did, you SO want to buy it on DVD. Click Communications sent me the 3-Disc Special Edition DVD (the 3rd disc is the digital copy) for review, and it’s now one of my favorite movies! Not familiar with the movie? Here’s a guide to the two main characters:
WALL-E is a robot who says absolutely nothing for a full 25 minutes of the movie yet somehow completely transfixes and endears himself to the audience within the first few minutes of the film. As the last robot left on earth, WALL-E (voiced by Ben Burtt) is one small robot–with a big, big heart–who holds the future of earth and mankind squarely in the palm of his metal hand. He’s outlasted all the “Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class” robots that were assigned some 700 years ago to clean up the environmental mess that man made of earth while man vacationed aboard the luxury spaceship Axiom.
WALL-E has dutifully gone about his job compacting trash, the extreme solitude broken only by his pet cockroach, but he’s developed some oddly human habits and ideas. When the Axiom sends its regularly scheduled robotic EVE probe (Elissa Knight) to earth, WALL-E is instantly smitten and proceeds to try to impress EVE with his collection of human memorabilia. EVE’s directive compels her to bring Wall-E’s newly collected plant sprout to the captain of the Axiom and WALL-E follows in hot pursuit. Suddenly, the human world is turned upside down and the Captain (Jeff Garlin) joins forces with WALL-E and a cast of other misfit robots to lead the now lethargic people back home to earth.
It’s truly amazing how Pixar put so much heart and feeling into animated robots. The first disc of the DVD set also has a short film starring BURN-E, another robot character, the animated short film shown in theaters, “Presto”, deleted scenes, and more. The second disc has “The Pixar Story”, the telling of how Pixar revolutionized Hollywood, plus more deleted scenes, more animated shorts, “making of” featurettes, and more! All of that for the amazing price of $22.99! Look for Wall-E (Three-Disc Special Edition + Digital Copy and BD Live) [Blu-ray] or 3-Disc DVD in stores tomorrow. You’ll love it!

Ooh! We loved this movie – can’t wait to pick up the DVD!!
I was not able to watch it in movie, planning to get in DVD
I thought they did an excellent job at personifying robots. Walle reminded me of my nephew quite a bit in the movie. He is just a cute little robot that everyone loves. They did an awesome job with that.
