Last night I did something I haven’t done since High School- I went to a Midnight Movie. What did I see?

The theater sold out of 2,000 tickets by 1:00 pm yesterday. We got there at 10:30 for the midnight show and almost all of those 2,000 people were already there. They let us into the theater at 10:45, and we sat there for an excruciating 65 minutes and 10 more minutes of previews.

When the movie started, there was an audible intake of breath in the theater. And when Bella is in the cafeteria and the Cullens start walking in, my friend Kelly and I actually started squealing and clutching each other’s arms. I have not felt that excited at a movie since the first Matrix.

It was so, so, so, so good. SO GOOD. They did an amazing job of condensing the story down yet not leaving anything out. Robert Pattinson was so perfectly broody as Edward, and the chemistry between him and Kristen Stewart- YOWSA. The screen was practically oozing with hotness.

I also want to give props to Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob. He’s from Grand Rapids, Michigan which is an hour from my house. And he plays Jack Spivey on My Own Worst Enemy (please, please, please don’t cancel that show, it’s so good). He is really good looking and sweet and does a wonderful job of being sweet to Bella yet totally creepy when Edward comes near him. He’s one to watch.

Of the actors playing the Cullens, Rosalie was scary, Emmett was quiet, Alice was adorable, and Jasper was…certifiably insane, I’m pretty sure. Here’s a still photo of them-

You don’t even have to have read the books to enjoy the movie, Kelly brought her neighbor Heather who hadn’t read any of them and she had no problem following what was going on. So there you have it, my review of the Twilight movie. Go. SEE IT!
