Last night I did something I haven’t done since High School- I went to a Midnight Movie. What did I see?
The theater sold out of 2,000 tickets by 1:00 pm yesterday. We got there at 10:30 for the midnight show and almost all of those 2,000 people were already there. They let us into the theater at 10:45, and we sat there for an excruciating 65 minutes and 10 more minutes of previews.
When the movie started, there was an audible intake of breath in the theater. And when Bella is in the cafeteria and the Cullens start walking in, my friend Kelly and I actually started squealing and clutching each other’s arms. I have not felt that excited at a movie since the first Matrix.
It was so, so, so, so good. SO GOOD. They did an amazing job of condensing the story down yet not leaving anything out. Robert Pattinson was so perfectly broody as Edward, and the chemistry between him and Kristen Stewart- YOWSA. The screen was practically oozing with hotness.
I also want to give props to Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob. He’s from Grand Rapids, Michigan which is an hour from my house. And he plays Jack Spivey on My Own Worst Enemy (please, please, please don’t cancel that show, it’s so good). He is really good looking and sweet and does a wonderful job of being sweet to Bella yet totally creepy when Edward comes near him. He’s one to watch.
Of the actors playing the Cullens, Rosalie was scary, Emmett was quiet, Alice was adorable, and Jasper was…certifiably insane, I’m pretty sure. Here’s a still photo of them-
You don’t even have to have read the books to enjoy the movie, Kelly brought her neighbor Heather who hadn’t read any of them and she had no problem following what was going on. So there you have it, my review of the Twilight movie. Go. SEE IT!

Sounds like I need to see this movie! I haven’t read the books.
I’m glad you liked it! I did, too! I thought Catherine Hardwicke did a fantastic job directing the film. I will definitely be seeing this more than once.
Actually, I’m going home to Jacksonville in a couple of days and I really want to see it there. All the mentions of the city I grew up in just made me fall that much more in love with the film - and Rob Pattinson!
Best,
Meg
I never make it to the theater, but I’m really wanting to read these books now. I’ve heard so many people raving about them!!!
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a midnight movie. I’ve also not read these books. Cory read the first one and hated it, so I haven’t taken the time to check it out myself. I do like vampire books - love the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. How does this compare?
I’ve heard so much about this awesome movie- I am definitely going to see it!
BTW, I’m inviting you over at Hip Mama’s Place for this year’s Christmas Giveaway Event. Hope to see you join in the contest and help spread the word. Tons of fabulous prizes are in store for the whole family!

Have a great evening!
It was kinda embarassing, two grown women reduced to giggling teenagers. Hey Bets, when can we go again?
I read the book in one day, loved it. Am on the second book. But last night I went to see the movie and was utterly disappointed. As a matter of fact, I thought it was one of the WORST movies ever made. The acting was awful and the special effects looked like they were from a movie made in the 1980s, not 2008. They skipped major parts of the book and didn’t explain things as they should have. If I tell you that the audience was cracking up - it was sort of pathetic as this truly wasn’t meant to be a funny movie, of any kind. Sorry to rain on your parade, but I think it was terrible and I can’t believe that the author allowed them to do that to her book. My advice: take your $10 and buy the book instead.
OMG! the twilight movie was the best movie i have ever seen in my life. Robert Pattinson is sexier than anyother guy i have ever seen. i saw the movie last night and everytime edward was shown i started like squeeling and going insane. i cnt believe it only got one in a half stars 4 the critics!
and Amy u dnt know crap so shut up!!!
So glad you had a great time and loved the movie!

I will be back for more!
Sincerely,
Deden
Well what to say?
I really enjoyed this movie. As a matter of fact, I went to see it two times because I couldn’t wait for it to come out on DVD. Everytime Jasper came out, I started blushing like a school girl–even my sister in law who is 27 started squealing everytime Edward appeared on the screen. The part that made me smile the most was during one of the cafeteria scenes where Edward catches the apple between his hands.
Amy: While I will agree that some of the special effects such as running up the mountain and jumping from one place to another where a bit amateurish, the rest of the movie made up for it. You seem be the type of person who is a book fanatic and will never be happy with anything that appears on the big screen.
But yeah, I’ve noticed that basically you either hate the movie–or you love it.
I loved it.
i love edward and the movie and books were great !!!!!
