A Pox Upon My House

Author: Elizabeth

Chris is sick with something flu-like. He has the chills, the body aches, the bad cough, he feels hot but doesn’t register a temperature. He gets exhausted if he spends more than about 20 minutes out of bed.

I have body aches and a dry cough, and feel kind of dizzy most of the time. I’m slamming glasses of water and trying to keep everything going around the house.

Ryan came home from school white as a sheet, saying that every time he swallows his throat hurts, and he had a pounding headache. Peachy.

I’m crossing my fingers and toes and everything else that neither Nathan nor Kaitlyn come down with anything.  Chris and I have both been sick more in the last few months than we have in years, and the ironic thing is, we both got flu shots this year.

I just want everybody to be healthy at the same time. Is that so much to ask?

I hope all of you feel better soon! My husband worked on some flu shot studies last summer and says that he nor the rest of us will get a flu shot again. They are not very effective and they are unsure what kinds of side effects are caused.

  2. Oh yikes – I hope you are all feeling better soon, and that you can stay that way for a while! I don’t think that’s too much to ask at all. :)

  3. Hi Elizabeth,

This is Hersh. I am coming back to your blog after a long time. So sorry to find you in a mess. But dn’t worry its seasonal flu nothing more. It spreads like wild-fire but goes away in 3-5 days max. Drink a lot of water and down some Vitamin C.
Hope to see you back blogging with full throttle soon. Good luck

We went through that for SIX weeks! Found out it was strep throat!
You should go get a test done. We tested two kids and then had to treat the whole family, and we are amazingly better!
We didn’t even all get sore throats, so we didn’t suspect it. We thought it was the flu over and over and over. Body aches, abdominal pain, nausea, puking, coughing, fever, chills, and sore throats. Those symptoms just cycled through us at different times.

You seem to have your hands full. It is a nice name you have table4five. Hope your flu deserts you and the two dont even whisper about anything close to it.
