Planning to attend BlogHer ’09? Buy Tickets Now!

An email just went out to BlogHer community newsletter subscribers that there are only 200 tickets left for the 2009 BlogHer Conference this July! It takes place July 24-25 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers on East Water Street. There are two full days of panel discussions, small group sessions,  plus you get breakfast, lunch, snacks, and there is a cocktail reception each evening with a few free drinks and complimentary food.

I want to dispel two popular myths about the BlogHer Conference:

1. You do not need to be invited to attend the BlogHer Conference. It is open to anyone who purchases a registration ticket. Did I mention only 200 left? Hurry up and register now!!  It’s also not open only to women, despite the “Her” ending of the name, so come on blogging dudes, come to BlogHer!

2. It is not for Mom bloggers only. Yes, the vendors bring a lot of stuff to spread out on tables and pack into swag bags that is appealing to Moms.  But that’s because they want us to then go home and buy MORE of their stuff. Us Moms are responsible for the majority of purchases in a household, you see. And we love getting FREE stuff the best. But trust me, if you are a political blogger, tech blogger,  fashion blogger, food blogger, business blogger, or any other kind of blogger,  there are panels at BlogHer for you. Learn more about the agenda and the speakers at the BlogHer Conference site.

Those of you who are coming to BlogHer, please de-lurk and leave a comment to let me know! While I’m there, I’ll be spending lunches and breaks in the BlogHer bookstore which I am helping to organize ahead of time, and then I’ll be there to help with selling and  book signings.  So make sure to stop by and say hi to me! You’ll get a big hug and a request for a photo, just so you know ahead of time :)

HURRY AND REGISTER FOR THE BLOGHER 2009 CONFERENCE!!!

I just registered for BlogHer Business and the main conference. As a marketer, I noticed you mentioned the swag — what kind of swag is most popular with attendees?

Stephanie- For me, what I enjoy getting the most is things I can really use as opposed to things that are just promotional. I’ll tell you one thing that a lot of attendees would both use and appreciate- refillable, ECO-FRIENDLY water bottles. Flash drives are always snapped right up. Also, I’d love to see someone pass out lip balm and travel size hand lotion- conference room air tends to be dry. But that’s just me :)

Sweetie, you are already cool enough to attend. And trust me, at BlogHer, you can let your Dork Flag Fly! I can hardly put into words how it feels to be surrounded by people who UNDERSTAND what it is you do.

With only 200 tickets left I need a miracle to be able to go. Wow those went fast!

200? I’d better have “the talk” with Headless Dad SOON!

  5. I’m going! :) Still working on hotel stuff, but I’m all registered (phew!). I’m still planning on the train, but don’t know if I can come meet yours in K’zoo or not – depends on if I need to leave the ‘good’ van home for Ron to use while I’m gone or not. Either way, I can’t wait until July! :)

i missed the boat on a ticket and will gladly purchase one that can be spared!
    please contact if you can!

  7. Heathen Mom says:

I was so sad to see the tickets were gone when I went to buy mine. I got on the waitlist as soon as it was started, but I’m starting to lose hope. I have been entering contests to win a spot. I really hope I get to go since Chicago is so close.
