vintage cocoa puffs tee I’m so thrilled to be participating in this giveaway with General Mills! It turns out that some of the very cereals that my kids regularly beg me to buy them are much healthier than I thought. General Mills Big G cereals were in the top half of the consumer reports ranking of kids’ cereals by nutritional content, and all have at least eight grams of whole grain per serving (at least 48 grams are recommended daily), and all have 12 grams or less of sugar per serving.

Approximately 75% of kids today don’t get the recommended levels of calcium and vitamin D – two key nutrients for bone health. As you may know, the American Academy of Pediatrics recently doubled their recommendation for the amount of vitamin D children should get to 400 IU a day.

Parents can easily help their kids get more of these two nutrients by looking for calcium and vitamin D fortified cereals, milk and juice. All General Mills Big G kid cereals (including Kix, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Puffs, Trix, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and more) offer a good source of BOTH vitamin D and calcium in each serving.

That’s right! You can buy your kids the cereals they are begging you for and not feel guilty about it! I would have assumed that a cereal with marshmallows in it would have WAY more than 12 grams of sugar per serving, but the truth is, Lucky Charms is actually a healthier choice than a lot of other cereals!

    Hey hon, Kim here. My little guy, Tre, is fanatical about Cookie Crisp. He will seriously wig out if there isn’t any in the house. Jonathan feels the same way about Cinnamon Toast Crunch.     My all ti,e favorite is Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but I’m allergic now. :-( My husband’s favorite has always been Lucky Charms. My son’s is Golden Grahams.

    My nine year-old ‘princess’ loves Cocoa Puffs! Actually, that makes two of us! Cocoa Puffs is also my favorite cereal!

    My son loves Cocoa Puffs. Even as a child, I loved Cocoa Puffs. I loved how the milk would turn brown, I thought YUM chocolate milk! HAHA. Thanks for the chance. My son would love to wear this shirt.

    The Cinnamon Toast Crunch is the first choice around here. However, Lucky Charms ( I have found memories of these from my childhood – a LONG time ago) and Kix are always in demand and disappear quickly from the pantry!
