Do you buy bottled water? Do you recycle the bottles? I’ll be honest, I buy bottled water and no, I don’t always recycle the bottle. Aquafina has come out with the Eco-Fina bottle, which uses 50% less plastic than the original bottle. It might not be much, but every little thing we can each do to reduce our carbon footprint is a good thing for our planet!
WIN IT: Thanks to Aquafina (made by Pepsi, by the way), I’ve got a case of 24 Aquafina Eco-Fina bottled waters and a cool shoulder bag made entirely of recycled material to give away to one reader!

For your main entry, leave a comment on this post and tell me one other way you are helping reduce your carbon footprint. You MUST do this or your comment won’t be counted.

We try not to use paper products and just…gulp…wash dishes!!
We recycle plastic & cans, etc. I also bring paper home from work that would otherwise be thrown away to use as scrap paper. Aside from that, my family also uses all natural laundry & dish cleaners.

I use cloth diapers, and right now, that means 2 1/2 years of diapers NOT in the landfills for my last child, alone.

I recycle the wal-mart plastic shopping bags we get by reusing them for trash bags. We also don’t drive around much unless it’s really needed. For example we make one trip to the store once a week. If we’re out of something we walk down the street and purchase it from our local Braums.
We recycle of course and walk a lot. All my light bulbs are energy efficient and I use all natural cleaning products. Thank you!

My husband has turned into the “mad unplugger” He read an article about stand-by power consumption by appliances not being used so now you’ll find all my appliances unplugged: our cell phone charger, the tv, his rechargeable shaver. He’s determined to buy a remote power strip so we can shut down the computer at night too.

When we are done with the bottled water and there is still some water left in the bottle- do NOT seal the bottle and toss. Empty the water on the ground. Water needs to be allowed to recycle. Don’t keep it in the bottle – release it.

To be honest.. I STOPPED buying bottled water and started refilling a refillable bottle with filtered water!!!! That has saved a ton of plastic from going into the landfills! But I do love Aquafina, and I am amazed that these bottles have 50% less plastic than other bottles.
To reduce our carbon foot print.. Our family is DILIGENT about recycling. We have been recycling for 10 years now!
I also will NOT buy any products that are packaged with a TON of excess packaging. I find that totally wasteful.
All of our light bulbs are energy savers too.
Our thermostats are set at 84 in summer (I LOVE IT… I’m cold natured) and 65 in winter ( I freeze) at night they go down to 60.
WE really do try!

I’ve been reusing my 20oz. bottles
I do try to buy all recycle items and I do recycle plastic and paper
We do drink bottled water and every bottle goes into the recyling bin. The kids take small bottles of water to school for lunch, and they also have a recycling bin. Another way we try to reduce our carbon footprint is by recycling anything else we can…paper, glass, cans, batteries, etc.

We are now using reusable grocery and lunch bags. Thanks for the chance.
I bathe the kids every other day! =)
Here in Maine, we always recycle the bottles as we have a bottle deposit. We also try our best to purchase items with minimal packaging, recycle what plastics we can and reuse those we can’t.

I only use the dishwasher for full load occasions – which aren’t that many. We’re also reverting to using kitchen towels more often then paper towels.

I finally got enough totes so I could ban plastic bags from my house! We also installed a water saving shower head and we unplug appliances when they aren’t in use. I was amazed at how much we dropped our electric bill by doing that! Thanks

Our house is made of Ice Block construction and we have a Geo-Thermal furnace. Both help to reduce energy consumption and costs.
We also recycle everything that’s possible to do so. We use Free-Cycle to be rid of unwanted items. We use cloth bags at the stores and we make sure all lights are turned off when not being used. I could go on and on…..
I tweeted your giveaway and I’m following you! Here is the tweet – Great Aquafina Giveaway here http://bit.ly/V2tcD
