I vote that we change it so the new week starts on a different day. Wednesday, maybe. Would the start of a new week feel so difficult if it started on Wednesday?
So far today I have done a load of dishes, wiped a whole piece of toast’s worth of crumbs from the kitchen counter, photographed a product review item only to have my camera battery die with the battery charger nowhere in site, and called AT&T to cancel my home phone service.
On the bright side, I did convince the boys to take both their sister AND the dog on a walk around the neighborhood. The reduction in the noise level around here is doing wonders for my state of mind.
Emails are furiously flying as I help the BlogHer conference organizers finalize the bookstore and book signings for the conference which is in TEN DAYS.
I bought what I’m pretty sure Elle Woods would call a “truly heinous” orange beaded top at Avenue that has to go back. I don’t know what I was thinking. I’m just not a fancy person, and it’s more important to be comfortable. What I’d really like is a cute polo shirt but I can’t find any, at least not where I’ve been shopping.
Still hate my haircut. HATE. IT. Every time I catch sight of my reflection I stop and stare at myself and wonder why I let my stylist do this to me? I cannot do anything at all with this haircut! Well, not true. I could put little barrettes in it like I’m in the 7th grade again. I could spend 25 minutes curling it into Farrah Fawcett sausage curls.
Otherwise, it looks like a dirty blonde helmet stuck to my head. HATE. DO NOT WANT. No, I’m not posting a photo. Trust me.
What else? I’m attacking my email inboxes with savage determination to once again “Get Caught Up”, even though every time Chris hears me say that he shoots me a sympathetic glance and says “honey, you will never be caught up”. He’s not being unsupportive, he’s being truthful after years of listening to me lament the state of my inboxes.
You’re awesome, sweetie. But just let me have this fantasy of opening Gmail and seeing…NOTHING.
So, yeah. Back to work. I’ve got 13 reviews and 14 giveaways I need to post on this blog, not to mention the dozens more to do on MomReviews.

Any day after a nice weekend with family is tough. Luckily your kids are old enough to help out and do things to help alleviate the noise some. I have many more years before that will happen here. Good luck and sorry you are having a rough day.
Let’s call Monday another day.

Meijer has polo shirts on clearance right now… That’s where I’ve been shopping for stuff to wear to BlogHer, so definitely will be dressing more for comfort than fashion too.
I’m sorry about your hair! I hate getting bad haircuts, and have definitely had my share of them too. And I hate hearing, “well at least it will grow back”, so won’t say that to you.
And I’m so with you on the whole Monday thing and feeling like I’ll never get caught up. I took just a peek at my review site e-mail today and was just overwhelmed at the number of things I still need to respond to, much less all the new unread stuff. Sigh.
Oh, and LOL – at your Internet Twins comment on my post! Fore sure, sore toes and all.
Oh, sorry to hear about your very hectic Monday…
As for myself, me and Monday used to have a very unharmonious relationship. That, until my schedule changed and now I can slack on Mondays. I still dread Monday nights though, since I had to think about work the following day.
I like the idea of switching Monday…although I bet after a while even if it were a different day starting the week it would feel the same, lol.

Anne-unfortunately, you are right. Even if the new week started on Wednesday because we had Monday and Tuesday off, then Wednesday would be the day we all dread. There’s no way to win.
I hate Monday and I’m sure everybody hates Monday! why? oh… there are a lot of reasons! great article again!
