One of the groups I joined at Mom Bloggers Club is called “Bloggin’ Moms with Technorati Authority”, and to help each other get a little boost in our rankings, we created a link love list to share.
When you claim your blog on Technorati, it gets assigned two values: Rank, and Authority. Your Technorati ranking is based on the number of incoming links to your blog, while the ‘Authority’ rating is based on the number of blogs that have linked to your blog. I believe it’s calculated on a six month basis.
So, if Susie from SusiesBlog writes a post and in it links to Table for Five, that counts as one link towards Rank, and one link towards Authority. If, over six months, she links to Table for Five four times, it counts as four links towards rank but still only one link towards Authority. Table for Five currently has a Rank of 54,642 and an Authority of 58.
According to a post on the Technorati blog, they are now looking at links within posts to determine how many links a blog has had, rather than sidebar links such as in blogrolls. Meaning that if you want to help out a fellow blogger and improve their Technorati rank and authority, link to them in a post. Blogrolls are still nice, but in-post links are nice too. Feel free to throw a link to Table for Five into a post any time!
So, these are the bloggers from my group that are participating. I hope you will visit their sites and get to know them.

I hadn’t even logged into Technorati in ages until I read this. It looks like it hasn’t been keeping track of my blogs very well and I had to ping them all. I thought that was supposed to be automatic. It is keeping up with the blog reactions, and I noticed that Zemanta is a big part of that. Every time someone links to one of your articles with Zemanta, that shows up as a link.
Just plain link love is good, too. I like to link to people!

Anna- Thanks for letting me know about Zemanta and Technorati. When I see a link to a post I wrote on one of my other blogs come up in Zemanta, I always link to it
