Academy Award-nominated music and an eye-popping combination of animation and live-action, PETE’S DRAGON: High Flying Edition is a new DVD release of this Walt Disney classic. This 1977 musical adventure about a young orphan and his unusual friend boasts a star-studded cast including Mickey Rooney, Shelley Winters, Jeff Conaway, Helen Reddy, and Sean Marshall as Pete. Set at the turn of the century in a coastal New England town, the story starts with orphaned Pete on the run along with his dragon pal Pete, who only he can see. They meet Nora, who has no family and feels instant kinship with Pete. When the townsfolk see the Pete seems to be able to do "magical" things (that are actually the work of Elliott), they try to exploit Pete's talents for their own gain. I Love You Man

I Love You, Man is a hilarious (and somewhat raunchy) movie starring Paul Rudd, Jason Segal and Rashida Jones is an interesting twist on the summer "buddy" movie, with Rudd playing Peter Klaven, a sensitive real estate agent who realizes after getting engaged to his girlfriend Zooey (Jones) that he has no close male friends to ask to be his best man or groomsmen. On the advice of his mother and brother, he sets out on a series of "man dates" trying to find a guy to be friends with. Written and directed by John Hamburg (Along Came Polly),  I Love You Man has a terrific ensemble cast that also includes Andy Samberg (SNL) as Peter's gym trainer brother Robbie, Jane Curtin (also from SNL) as his Mom, J.K. My OfficeMax shopping spree

I went on a shopping "spree" today. To OfficeMax.  I was only going to get a few things, but then in a total coincidence, I had just happened to buy last Sunday's paper, which I rarely do, I had left it in the van on the passenger seat, I flipped through the paper just on the off chance there were any coupons I could use, and lo and behold, there was a brown paper grocery bag for OfficeMax in the paper. Anything that fit in the bag was 20% off. It was like the universe was telling me to go shop there. Before I viewed a webcast run by TLC's Peter Walsh and posted tweets during it last week, I received a package of the new Schoolio-Von-Hoolio school supplies to check out from OfficeMax. It is the cutest line of folders, notebooks, journals, backpacks, drawstring bags, crayons, and all kinds of other great stuff for back to school.
