Sid the Science Kid is a half-hour PBS Kids show produced by Jim Henson Productions (creators of the Muppets). Sid is an inquisitive preschooler who asks basic science questions and then gets help answering them from his teacher, his classmates, and his family. Each episode focuses on a single scientific concept, like what makes water freeze and then melt, or what is in the dirt? Sid and his classmates create charts, take measurements, and observe the natural world around them, in a way that preschoolers understand. There’s also lots of jokes and comedy to make science fun!

I would give it to my 5 year old son Boston. He is very smart and loves Sid the Science kid. unfortunately Christmas is going to be tight with my mothers passing on Thanksgiving and pay cuts, so this would be a blessing and a huge help.
I’d like to get the doll for a friend of mine who is a bio-sciences professor at ESF-SUNY working on bio-fuels and bio-plastics. He also gives seminar to local Syracuse elementary students and I think it’d help him for those presentations and also, he really looks like Sid but my friend has a mohawk instead of purple hair.
